Tricolour collaboration between Performance artist Jazmin Taco and Photographer Nadia Rabhi © 2016
Jazmin Taco performs at Trocadero. She used the French flag and connected powerful words onto her body at her “liberté, égalité, fraternité”performance. Jazmin selects this specific words which represent the three elements of the revolutionary motto, liberté (freedom: blue), égalité (equality: white), fraternité (brotherhood: red). She paint her breast with red lipstick „brand Clinic“ and collapse onto the French flag until the french flag collapsed too. Subsequently She fix the french flag strongly on the wall and write with her red lipstick on her torso Liberte!.
Jazmin Taco analyzes the circumstances of the Turistic Paris City when there is a political and emotional fear by creating a new work which include language, thought, action and Photography with a powerful message such as “liberte, égalité, fraternité”.
This work was created on the 22 of March 2016, when three coordinated bombings occurred in Belgium. On the 22 of March the Paris citizens were in panic because the news shared that there was a Link between the Brussels „22.03.2016“ and the Paris „13.11. 2015“ Attacks. In this day there was policeman all over Paris especially at the Tourist places, Main train Station and Airport but to our great surprise not during the performance. More information regarding the politics of the days can be found here: Wikipedia, CNN
