A year in fcp An overview
The following pages show the work I did on the first Summative Project we were given during the Visual Awareness module. It was on African Print, its origins, use, and impact in the fashion industry. It was my first time using InDesign and a new learning experience as a whole. These are a few of the pages from the document.
I was very interested, as I still am in the use of a few strong images to communicate my point or ideas, rather than many small images. This is another one of the reasons I love African Fashion as a whole; the loud fabrics against dark skin make for extremely strong photographs that look effortless.
The following are four pages from my Insight Comparison & Analysis report, done as part of the Creative Networks module. the pages consist of mood boards that communicate what is given as the title on each page. I feel working with mood boards is a big part of this course as it is a great from of visual communication.
I also have two blogs, a written one on wordpress and a more visual one on Tumblr called the-kikoy-soul. On it, I post pictures and comment on social issues, fashion editorals and any other related content that I feel depicts who I am. I do this because I feel as though blogs should also be about what you care about, and be used as a platform to talk about social issues.
The following pages, are excerpts from my sketchbook. I use my sketch book to visualise my research, and help me catalogue and categorize information so i can get an idea of how to move forward. I use photos and cut outs mainly, and annotate what stands out about the shot around them.
The pages are messy and all over the place. i think this is a reflection of what my mind looks and feels like when i begin reserch.
The following pages showcase my first time working with online graphic design sites, to create brand identity mock ups, mood boards and just general graphic design work.
Both the photoshoot and the mockups were for a wardrobe fragrance brand I was involved in creating, also for the Creative Networks module.
