VM / INSTORE Embodying the powers of nature, space, volume and light are used to create an epic yet intimate immersive experience of the ethereal world. Light airiness and tempestuous energy allow for pure contemplation and clearing of the mind, whilst undergoing some retail ‘therapy’.

Wide leg and high waist pants date back to the 1920s all through to the 1950s, with an occasional occurrence before and after. The current trend, however, borrows from the 1970s. It is a combination of the ‘Oxford Bags’, ’Work Pants’ and ‘Work Overalls’.
Etudes
Autum / Winter 2017 COLLABORATION OPENING CEREMONY x Etudes
The brand could adopt the trend by way of collaboration. We would suggest an A/W Collaboration with fashion label Etudes, a contemporary menswear brand, inspired by the people and places the designers were touched by.

We think they would be a good fit as they have a similar target consumer, and therefore the collaboration could be exciting for fans of both brands. The collection would feature wide leg trousers, and oversized pieces as a way to adopt the trend.

Print/Graphic Floral embroidery, inspired by a fusion of cultures, celebrates the beauty of the natural world, native produce, artisan techniques and traditional authentic patterns.
The trend is flooded with expressive style, artisanal rug patterns and paisleys, which gives a messy and handcrafted look. Nickolas Muray (1939)
In previous years, embroidery was only seen in couture catwalks, whereas now it is more mainstream, and may have even reached critical mass.
S/S (2015) Elie Saab
WGSN A/W (2017) Oscar De La Renta
The brand could adopt the trend as and accent design on their logo. This would go slightly against the mainstream use of the trend we have seen, whilst also fitting in with the brand’s style of using accent designs and frequently changing their logo.

What went well?
What would we do differently?
The work load was split up fairly, each having a trend to look into, before collating this research as a group.
Allocate more time to read trend forecasting books, allowing us to back up our ideas with theory.
Reflected on the 1 to 1’s, which helped strengthen our presentation branding and content.
Ensure we have more primary research sources.
Arranging team meetings, and completing all intended tasks within that time. Ensured our design recipe reflected our tone of voice by getting visual inspiration from likeminded brands.
Develop our Photoshop skills to create more complex mock ups.
