INTRODUC TION An accumulation of works experimenting letter forms, typefcaes, colour, composition and principles of graphic design. The main typefaces used throughout are: Bauhaus, Times New Roman, Calibri and Bodoni. The first four compositions are using each of these as a single typeface in a composition while the rest are a series of two of these typefaces in one composition.
BAUHAUS This font is from the Geomatric Sans Serif type family. Strokes have the appearance of being strict monolines and character shapes are made up of geometric forms. This composition of text, when placed together shows contrast as well as enhances the ‘positive and negetive spaces’. Bauhaus is a typeface usually used in posters and typelogos.
G
TIMES NEW ROMAN This font is from the Transitional Serif type family. The axis of curve strokes can be inclined in transitional designs; the strokes normally have a vertical stress. This composition communicates ‘hierarchy’. The curved strokes are more circular in shape, and the characters became more regular. These changes created a greater consistency in size and form.
N
CALIBRI This font is from the Humanistic Sans Serif type family. This composition communicates the ‘foreground/background’ as well as ‘postive and negetive’ principle of visual design. They are based on the proportions of Roman inscriptional letters. The contrast in stroke weight is readily apparent. Typographic experts claim that these are the most legible and most easily read of the sans serif typefaces.
BODONI This font is from the Neoclassical & Didone Serifs. The work of Bodoni epitomizes this style of type. This composition communicates the ‘balance’ principle of visual design. Bodoni is a typeface of a slightly condensed underlying structure with flat, unbracketed serifs, extreme contrast between thick and thin strokes and an overall geometric construction.
TIMES NEW ROMAN & BODONI In this composition the ‘G’ is in the typeface, Times New Roman (Bold) while the ‘n’ is in Bodoni (Regular). This layout communicates the principle of ‘hierarchy’. I’d like to title this composition as “The Giant and the Lilliput.”
TIMES NEW ROMAN & CALIBRI In this composition the ‘n’ is in the typeface, Times New Roman (Regular) while the ‘g’ is in Calibri (Regular). This layout communicates the principle of ‘foreground/background’. I would title this composition, “The Dangling N.”

BODONI & CALIBRI In this composition the ‘G’ is in the typeface, Bodoni (Bold) while the ‘n’ is in Calabri (Regular). This layout communicates the principle of ‘contrast’ and ‘balance’. I namw this compostion as a ‘ning gang.’ Slightly redefining the Ying-Yang.
BAUHAUS & CALIBRI In this composition the ‘g’ is in the typeface, Calibri (Light) while the ‘n’ is in Bauhaus. This layout communicates the principle of ‘heirarchy’ and some amount of balance as although the ‘G’ is larger in size, the ‘N’ is balanced because its in Bold and attracts ones mind.
CALIBRI & BODONI In this composition the ‘g’ is in the typeface, Bodoni (Regular) while the ‘n’ is in Calibri (Light). This layout communicates the principle of ‘balance’ and ‘contrast’. This composition also indicates the use of color along with the positive and negetive faces, thus creating a balance.
TIMES NEW ROMAN & BODONI In this composition the ‘g’ is in the typeface, Bodoni (Regular) while the ‘n’ is in Times New Roman (Regular). This layout communicates the principle of ‘balance’, ‘contrast’ and to come amount ‘background/foregrund. Playing with the letters and colours with background and foreground create an impact of dept and dominance.
CALIBRI & TIMES NEW ROMAN In this composition the ‘g’ is in the typeface, Calibri (Bold) while the n’ is in Times New Roman (Regular). This layout displays the principle of ‘contrast’. In this image, I have played with back ground foreground along with opacity and form.
BAUHAUS & BODONI In this composition the ‘G’ is in the typeface, Bodoni (Regular) while the ‘n’ is in Bauhaus (Regular). This layout coveys the principle of ‘foreground/background’ and ‘contrast’. I tried merging the alphabet composition to create a sort of an illustion and camouflage.
