KOHIMA: T Khel council has lauded various groups and organisations such as fire and emergency services, district administration, 1st Assam Rifles, NSDMA, power department, AYO, KVYO with QRT, PYO, TYO, TSU, churches, public and individual for rendering humanitarian services to stop the devastating fire in the Mao market which broke out on February 27 and razed down a number of properties, while partially damaging Bethel hospital.

NBSE informs on conduct of board exams 2023

NDPP expresses gratitude to electorates

DIMAPUR: Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has expressed sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the electorates of Nagaland for coming forward and exercising their universal adult franchise to vote for their respective candidates.

In a communique, NDPP media & communication committee said that the State witnessed a record voter turnout of 84.69%, which demonstrates the peoples belief in democracy and the democratic process of choosing their leaders.

While congratulating all first-time voters, who had come forward to exercise their rights, NDPP also expressed gratitude to all political parties for participating in the elections by setting up their respective candidates and ensuring that the banner of democracy was lifted high.

“This election was perhaps the first time that Nagaland saw a record of 13 political parties including independents participating. This speaks volumes of how the State has matured politically over the last 59 years since the first general elections of 1964,” NDPP stated.

Further, NDPP congratulated the Election Commission of India, the entire State machinery headed by the chief secretary and DGP Nagaland for the successful conduct of the general elections of 2023.

Post-poll scrutiny conducted for Wokha

DIMAPUR: Post-poll scrutiny of Form 17 A and other documents for all the four Assembly Constituencies under Wokha district was conducted on February 28, in the presence of General Observer 37th Tyui A/C and 38th Wokha A/C Abhishek Krishnan (IAS) and General Observer for 39th Sanis and 40th Bhandari A/C Jyoti Kumar Lakra (IAS) and various political parties.

According to a DIPR report, the objective for conducting post-poll scrutiny is to verify Form 17A and other documents, whether the poll was conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner and as per the guideline of the Election Commission of India (ECI).

KPC convenes general meeting

KOHIMA: Kohima Press Club (KPC) has convened a special general meeting of the press club at LCS Conference Hall, on March 1, 11 am. All the members of the Press Club have been requested to attend the meeting on priority.

PHSS observes ‘National Science Day 2023’

DIMAP UR: Pilgrim Higher Secondary School (PHSS) observed “National Science Day” on February 28, to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect in 1928 by Indian Physicist C.V Raman.

In a press statement, PHS principal informed that a street play, video-presentation on the formation of the Earth and Moon marked the event. Later on, an exhibition of Science laboratory tools was inaugurated in the Science laboratory by the Principal, Kaini Khekho Kikon in the presence of classes 1 to 3.

The theme of National Science Day 2023, “Global Science for Global Wellbeing” was extensively discussed.This event was organized by Science department.

NBSE further informed that candidates are required to bring their original admit cards to the examination hall/room on all the days of the examination. Candidates are also requested to read the question paper carefully before they start to write the answers. Answers to the questions should be written keeping in mind the marks allotted to it.

Candidates are to note the following permitted items and barred items:

Permitted items: admit card, school identity card, stationery item i.e. transparent pouch, geometry/pencil box, blue/royal blue ball point/gel pen, scale, writing board, eraser, analogue watch and transparent water bottles,

The Board re-iterated that candidates must shade/darken the roll number on the front page of the OMR of the answer book correctly/properly. Candidates have also been reminded to maintain discipline and refrain from any kind of mal-practices during examinations. The Board cautioned that anyone resorting to unfair means in the examinations would be dealt as per the rules of the Board.

Further, candidates have been advised to reach the exam centre in time by moving out from home early.

Meanwhile, the Board extended best wishes to all the candidates appearing for the examinations.
