Stakeholders discuss plan to achieve GDPA

DMC covers 18.13 square kilometers, which was 12.61% of the total GDPA.

(NPN): To evaluate the Greater Dimapur Planning Area (GDPA) 2041 master plan, a stakeholder’s consultation meeting was held on Friday at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur.

The meeting was convened by Urban Development Department and was attended by government departments, GBs, and representatives of different civil societies among others. At the meeting, the members discussed on development objectives such as implementation of building regulations, identification of growth centers, improvement of transportation, heritage conservation, and the introduction of urban design guidelines. The need for decentralized development patterns and protection of water bodies was also emphasized.

Chenithung Lotha, emphasized the importance of taking the opinions of the stakeholders into account before publishing the draft master plan.

It has 23 wards, 96 colonies, and a population of 1,22,834 (As per 2011 Census) and 27,165 households. CTC covers 15.10 square kilometers, which was 10.50% of the total GDPA. CTC has 12 wards, 50 colonies, and a population of 25,885 and 5,129 households and EDTC covers 3.96 square kilometers, which was 2.75% of the total GDPA, with 11 wards.

The GDPA also includes 45 villages within its planning area, covering 106.55 square kilometers, which was 74.12% of the total GDPA.

The second round of training for polling personnel under Mokokchung district for the forthcoming general election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023 was held at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary Mokokchung on February 10.

General Election Observer Prashant Kumar Panda visited the training venue and interacted with the trainees and emphasized the need to get properly acquainted with the handbook on election procedures and handling of the EVM.

DIMAPUR: Miao battalion/ Zunheboto of 11th Assam Rifles as part of the Op Sadbhavna and Assam Rifles Civic Action week under the aegis of HQ 25 Sect AR/ IGAR(N) conducted series of pilot projects under Zunheboto district.

The battalion organised a free Gynecology medical camp at public ground Zunheboto where both male and female of nearby villages approached the camp for treatment and also took medicines as prescribed by the doctors. AR also distributed IT equipments (computers) in Aghunato Village through Eastern Sumi Students. The battalion also organized free veterinary camp and distributed solar street lights in Suruhoto town. Further, the battalion distributed sports items in old Vekuho village.

DIMAPUR: Maj Gen Gagan Deep, ADG, NCC Directorate NER visited NCC Group Headquarters Kohima on February 8 and felicitated NCC cadets who have excelled in various activities.

During his visit, official matters were also discussed.

JUO Vizhasieno Vikhrie of Kohima College, Kohima affiliated to 1 Naga Girls Bn NCC, Kohima who attended the Thal Sainik Camp 2022 at New Delhi and the Para Basic Course 2022 at AATS, Agra was also felicitated for her outstanding performance in the Para Basic Course 2022 where she was awarded the Best Cadet (SW).
