(NPN): The 61st sports meet of Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA) began on Wednesday at Phesama ground. The meet brings together the 12 villages under the association including, Viswema, Jakhama, Kigwema, Kidima, Kezo Town, Kezo Basa, Kezoma, Khuzama,

Phesama, Pfuchama, Mitelephe and Mima.

Speaking as the special guest, Block Development Officer, Jakhama RD Block, Vilopi Sakhrie, said associations such as SASA were good platform for sportspersons to showcase their skills and talents.

He expressed happiness that SASA had included a new discipline, the belt wrestling, which was regarded as one of the oldest forms of wrestlings. He hoped that with the addition of the new discipline, local sportspersons would be able to represent the state not just in the regional level but even in the national and international level competitions.
