El equipo SPIL es utilizado para ubicar un carro o sistema de traslación en alguna de hasta 256 posiciones alternativas. La identificación se realiza mediante código binario y hasta una velocidad máxima de 2m/seg. Este equipo esta diseñado para resistir los ambientes más agresivos y desfavorables existentes en la industria tales como hornos de coque donde se combinan gases y vapores sulfurados con temperaturas elevadas. Su housing esta realizado en acero inoxidable y la electrónica en su interior está alojada en cajas estancas antiexplosivas plásticas resistentes a la temperatura. La comunicación con un PLC se realiza por medio de cable multiconductor, a través del cual se envían tanto las señales de información de posición e identificación como así también de status del equipo. El SPIL también brinda información del sentido en el cual se está realizando la traslación. La precisión en el posicionamiento es de aproximadamente 1mm. Este equipamiento ha sido desarrollado para su funcionamiento a la intemperie, siendo inmune a problemas de identificación por interferencia de vapor, lluvia, polvo, etc. El sistema de banderas fijo a la estructura estática es de fácil configuración y su construcción hace que las piezas de identificación y posicionamiento sean intercambiables entre todas las banderas. De esta forma se evita una bandera específica para cada posición. Las banderas también están construidas de acero inoxidable resistentes a la intemperie.

SPIL is used to locate a heavy load trolleys (Larry cars) who runs arround rail roads or rails in the industry up to 256 different positions. The identification was done via binary code and up to a maximum speed of 2m/seg. This equipment is designed to withstand the most aggressive and unfavourable industry environments such as coke ovens, where sulphurous gases and vapours are combined with elevated temperatures. Its housing is made of stainless steel and electronics inside is located in sealed explosion proof plastic boxes, temperature resistant. Communication with a PLC is done by multicore cable, through which both signals of position and identification are sent as well as equipment status. SPIL also provides information of the direction in which the translation it is being made. The accuracy in positioning is about 1mm. This equipment has been developed to operate in the open, being immune to problems of identification related with steam interference, rain, dust, etc.. The system flags fixed to the static structure are easy to setup and its construction makes the pieces of identification and positioning, interchangeable among all the flags. This avoids a special flag for each position. The flags are also weather resistant, stainless steel made.
