Placing the child at the centre of their education, all learning experiences, lessons and programmes are designed to meet our students’ individual needs. Learning through enquiry and continuous reflection, the PYP helps students develop knowledge, skills and conceptual understandings to make a difference in their own lives, their communities and beyond. Focusing on intellectual, personal, emotional, and social growth, they cultivate a sense of internationalmindedness and are encouraged to take meaningful action.

OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCES

EXPEDITIONS

Every year, about 2,000 Nord Anglia students travel to Arusha, Tanzania, to work on the practical tasks of building and maintaining school and village accommodation. In Les Martinets, Switzerland, students undertake a week’s mountaineering and outdoor activity in self-led teams to overcome basic challenges such as cooking and navigation. Experiences like this help to develop both self-reliance and teamwork –as well as an understanding of the lives and challenges of others.

GLOBAL CAMPUS

Global Campus is our digital learning platform that gives every student a personalised experience, as well as letting them connect with thousands of their classmates from other Nord Anglia schools around the world. With special areas for students of different ages, Global Campus provides fresh and exciting learning materials on everything from science challenges from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to health and wellbeing, with advice and activities on healthy eating, weekly workouts, and yoga.

OUR COLLABORATIONS

MASSACHUSETTS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (MIT)

Our interdisciplinary approach to teaching science and technology, in collaboration with MIT, gives your child the skills they’ll need to thrive in the 21st century. These include trying out approaches to real-world problems, creative thinking, and understanding the importance of persistence in finding answers. This programme also provides professional development for teachers, an annual student visit to MIT, and a collaboration with MIT scientists to develop ‘maker spaces’ for practical activities in all our schools.

UNICEF

Our collaboration with UNICEF is a focus for a wide range of activities that inspire our students with global challenges and resources, helping them to think practically about making a real difference. These activities develop our students’ sense of themselves as global citizens – and people who really can change the world for the better.

20

THE JUILLIARD SCHOOL

To foster our students’ creativity, we collaborate with The Juilliard School to develop our performing arts programme. Music, dance and drama from different cultures and periods of history are used to inspire students to engage with the arts in a meaningful, powerful way. Our students can communicate their personal stories through composition and gain confidence in self-expression through music and dance. In our drama programme, we develop students’ communication skills, as well as helping them speak confidently in public and excel when they return to the classroom.

OUR VIBRANT INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY

When you join NAIS Dublin, you become part of a vibrant international community of almost 50 nationalities! Our parents play a supportive, proactive role in our school, making it a warm, inclusive place where everyone is welcome.
