Children of two involved parents tend to have fewer behavioral problems, enjoy better relationships, do better in school and end up economically better than those with only one. A child with two involved parents is more likely to trust others and enjoy stable relationships outside the home. When two parents are
involved the children are more protected from problems such as depression, suicide, extensive sexual activity and drug use.
Being a dedicated father is not something that comes naturally to most men. It is a learned and practiced skill. It involves being there for the child whenever you are needed not whenever it
is convenient. It involves staying up with a sick child, listening to their problems or attending an event important to them. It involves withholding judgment and trusting.
As a father of three I can say I would not trade the joy of raising my children for any other experience in the world. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been great.
Happy Fathers day!
