Program Description The Clinical Research Associate program at Oxford College is a fast paced, quality program that provides the ideal path for graduate students and professionals interested in Clinical Research. Our 12-month intensive program combines in-class training with hands-on experience through placements. Upon graduation, the students will be ready to work in hospitals, pharmaceutical and biotech firms, contract services and research centres. The Program is full time; all of our students have prior degrees when they enroll so that upon graduation, they receive a post-graduate diploma. The Program aims to provide the knowledge and skills needed to become a competent and useful Clinical Researcher. We provide the training that is needed for the positions of CRA, CRC, Manager, Investigator and Trialist. For the employer, a freshly trained employee means minimal hand-holding, and reducing capital investment in personnel. For the placement coordinator or Principal Investigator, a properly trained student means they can hit-the-ground-running, needing only to be given minimal direction so as to maximize resource utilization. The activities and positions of our graduates are evidence that they have received the knowledge and skills that give them the confidence to enter any research environment and quickly become valuable contributors to any project. We strongly believe that students who take live, contact courses in a classroom environment get a better education, develop better skills and are better prepared for professional careers. Students have the opportunity to ask questions, interact and workshop with our experienced faculty as well as with fellow students; they can also take advantage of our campus resources, including our computer lab and library, and our career counseling services.
Program Focus • Assist in developing government health policy by reviewing relevant literature, conducting interviews, collecting and analyzing statistical data, and providing advice to senior managers and officials on issues such as health promotion, regulation, standards and financing • Design and implement health projects or programs • Maintain, update and manage health information databases • Compile and analyze statistical information provided by private and public health care institutions and organizations and produce reports • Monitor and evaluate health care programs operated by government departments and agencies or private organizations • Assess compliance with health standards and identify remedial action if necessary • Conduct evaluations and assessments of health projects and programs • Provide consulting services to clients in private establishments or government departments or agencies • Respond to internal and external program and policy information requests • Produce newsletters, magazines and other documents to provide information to association or organization members or the general public • Present the views of an association or organization to politicians, government officials, the media or the general public

Reasons to work as a Clinical Research Associate 1. Interesting Employment Opportunities – A CRA is responsible for the supervision and management of all the facets of clinical trial conduct, which equates to active involvement in all stages of clinical trial, including risk management and quality assurance. As such, the job is vigorous, dynamic and highly interesting to those who pursue this career path. 2. Social Interaction and Communication – CRAs consistently work with investigators, coordinators, ethics committees, sponsor companies and regulatory bodies, which ensures active engagement and communication within professional settings. 3. A New Beginning – The CRA program is an excellent choice for people who have extensive education and experience in the field of science and medicine (such as doctors, dentists, physicists and anyone with a Science background) and are seeking new work opportunities in Canada. 4. Flexibility - While many CRAs choose to work in hospitals or in medical / pharmaceutical industries, many opportunities exist for freelance clinic work in collaboration with companies offeringcontracted projects. This provides flexibility of time and location, which can be determined by the CRA.

Testimonials I want to take a moment to share my journey in Oxford College in Clinical Research program. This program is a very descriptive and provides thorough knowledge of the growing field of Clinical Research. The course is structured in a nice and information manner. My professor Dr. Kamyar Motavaze is true inspiration for me and i am very thankful for his great cintribution throughout the program. It is an honor for me to be a student of Oxford College and would always recommend this college to all who want to pursue their career in Clinical Reserach. Neelam Sharma
This experience at Oxford College was the “startup about something bigger. I discovered the pleasure to meet people with different backgrounds, from different countries and cultures. Most important I continued to improve my knowledge and expereinces. Studying as a Clinical Research Assistant at one of the Great research Centers in Toronto. Staff at Oxford College were always available to help you and solve any diificulties you may face. Clinical Research class was special, it was one of the best experiences I ever had. The instructors were very knowledgeable, helpful and best of all were caring. It was not a college, but also kind of a family that becomes part of my life. Mai Mohamed Abdelhadi
