With a long standing history of success and over 17 years of experience in the education sector, OEGC has successfully established primary to secondary private schools, as well as a private career college with hundreds of graduates every year. The ELiT program is based around an integrated, student-centred learning environment. Designed for students of varying ages and abilities, the curriculum embraces collaborative, communicative activities that encourage students to think out loud about their own language processes. The ELiT program is infused with technology and up-to-date practices, allowing learners the opportunity to apply their knowledge as they define problems and discover solutions. The ELiT curriculum was designed with the future in mind as students are introduced to technology from the early stages of language learning, through to the more advanced states of comprehension. Discover a new way of learning Oxford Education Group of Canada

offers a variety of programs and courses designed to develop the English language skills necessary to succeed in today’s competitive world. The ELiT curriculum provides unique language instruction for personal, professional, and academic levels of study. The General English program begins at the fundamentals level for those with little exposure to English and continues through to the more advanced stages of communication and language development. From there students planning to study at a university or college can enrol in our University Pathways program where the development of academic study skills, critical thinking skills, and problem solving abilities are refined in preparation for advanced post-secondary study. Included in the University Pathways stream is our Exam Preparation Courses designed to hlep students prepare for international English axams. Similarly, for those currently in the workforce or individuals considering a specialized field of study, OEGC offers an impressive array of English for Professional Development courses available for Banking & Finance, Oil & Gas, Information Technology, Health Care, Construction, Business Studies, International Tourism, and Teacher Training. Ensuring our students receive the highest quality education at every turn of the page or touch of the screen, all of our programs and courses have been correlated to the International Standards and Testing, as well as the Canadian Benchmarks for language learning.


Corporate Training Program Learning in a new dimension, from teamwork to fieldwork Our Contract Language Training Program (CLT) has been developed with the busy professional in mind. Working with individual clients to identify their learning objectives, we customize programs to cater to both language requirements and scheduling. Whether employees require general language training or specific skill building, OEGC offers learners a supportive, engaging environment in which to learn. Each of our programs have been developed to reflect current trends in the marketplace, including industry-related materials and activities. General English

A six series set The General English program has been designed to prepare learners to communicate accurately, effectively, and confidently in English for a variety of everyday purposes. The goal of this course is to provide students with an unforgettable learning experience that emphasizes communication skills and cultural fluency. Instruction methods include project-based learning, as well as in-class and online activities, project assignments, and content quizzes. The General English program has 6 levels that correspond to six course beginning at the fundamentals level and progressing forward to more advanced level language development. Placement into the General English program is determined through an English proficiency test, that evaluates the four Enlish skills. Upon completion of the General English program, successful graduates are eligible to enroll in our University Pathways program. The General English Program can be combined with the following courses: 1. General English + Communication English course 2. General English + Professional Development courses 3. General English + Academic Writing course Students who successfully complete the General English program will be able to take and pass the Cambridge FCE exam. Duration: • There are 6 courses; each six weeks in length. • The program runs for a minimum of six weeks to a maximum of • 32 instructional weeks. Requirements: • English Placement Test • Students testing at the intermediate level (L5) or below will be placed in the General English course. • Students who test at or above the advanced level (L6) may select the program of their choice from the University pathways program.

Understanding the language of Industry and Trade Program Week Weekly Fee OEGC’s English for Professional Development courses are designed with industry in mind. In today’s globalized world, $350.00 1-12 technical English and professional skills are fundamental to the continued growth of a company. Our EPD program has been $335.00 13-24 designed for students considering a specialized field of study $320.00 25-36 or for industry professionals requiring specific language skills $305.00 37-44+ for the workplace. The course offerings in this program include Health Care, Information Technology, Oil & Gas, Banking & Finance, Construction, International Tourism, and Teacher Training. Each of our courses contains high frequency, technical vocabulary, communication skills, and grammar competency to assist learners in achieving the language proficiency needed. Our program offers students an opportunity to learn relevant technologies and software, while also becoming more fluent in the language of their trade. The Professional Development course can be combined with the following courses: 1. Professional Development + General English 2. Professional Development + Communication English Duration: • Each course runs for six weeks. • The course runs for a minimum of 6 weeks to a maximum of 18 weeks and can be combined with the General English program depending on the level. Requirements • Students take our Placement test to determine their level of English proficiency. • This course is recommended for professionals already working within the industry and students interested in pursuing a career within the field.

Business English

The Business English program is designed for students of business or professionals currently working in the industry. Available as a unique virtual learning experience through Languagelabs or studied through more traditional methods, the Market Leader Business series has been designed for learners pursuing an education in business studies. The course includes readings from the Financial Times© as well as relevant case studies that provide students with authentic business materials, resources, and situational analysis. In addition to Market Leader’s five level series, students in this program also have the opportunity to specialize in either Marketing or Human Resources. As with our General English and EPD programs, OEGC’s Business course includes general English development within a business oriented context.

Following the road to higher education At OEGC, our University Pathways program offers students two options to select from. Through this course of study learners can choose from either the University English course, or the Academic Research English course. Though each is an academic preparation course for study in higher education, the University Academic program offers university-bound students more indepth instruction on research methods and includes access to an online research library with over 200,000 publications.

IELTS/TOEFL/TOEIC Exams

The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a test of a person’s ability to communicate in English across all four language skills; reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students enrolled in this program are taught strategies for success in the IELTS exam, while becoming familiar with the different parts of the exam. at the same time building confidence in their language abilities. This exam is available in two versions, either for Academic purposes or as a General Training Module. The Focus on Academic Skills for IELTS course is a measure of language proficiency needed for academic or higher education study. The course measures language proficiency in practical, everyday contexts, where tasks and tests reflect both the workplace as well as social situations.

TOEFL: The Test of English Foreign Language is used as the standard measure of university level English by English based universities and colleges worldwide. TOEIC: The Test of English for International Communication, or TOEIC, measures proficiency of international business English. The test is used as a certification for companies all over the world, making it the global standard of English language measurement. The Exam Preparation Courses may be combined with the following courses:

General English: The General English course prepares students to communicate accurately and confidently in English. The goal of this course is to provide students with an unforgettable and enjoyable learning experience with an emphasis on cultural fluency to provide students with the necessary language skills to function comfortably in a variety of social, travel, and business situations. University Pathway: The University Pathway Program consists of two streams of Academic English study that continues to build upon the integrated language skills of reading, listening, writing, and speaking, as well as teaching students how to integrate these skills in real-world academic contexts. Crucial academic skills are introduced, reinforced and expanded in all four levels to facilitate knowledge acquisition. Exam Preparation: The IELTS/ TOEFL/TOEIC course is designed for students seeking entry into an English based university or college. The course will prepare students to take and pass the exam with a high score. Business English: The Business English program is an alternative to the General English Program for students of business studies and professionals in the industry. Coupled with option of a virtual business learning environment, students are sure to develop skills both language and industry skills that will focuse on how to be successful in today’s global business environment. Professional Development: The English for Professional Development Program provides students with specialized language training specific to their industry. Students of industry, professionals, and employees, from both private and public sectors, receive technical language training that targets the needs of the person and workplace. Corporate Language Training: Our Corporate Language Training Program (CLT) is offered to companies or teams of professionals who wish to develop and refine their English skills congruent to the nature of their business. CLT courses run in tandem with the General English program, EPD courses and Business English.

This style incorporates inclass instruction along with a strong online component that engages learners in authentic experiences where students can apply their knowledge through collaborative projects and independent assignments.

This approach takes the blended learning route a step further with its inclusion of an e-learning environment that engages students in real time conversation through the world of avatars and virtual cities. Students are given the opportunity to develop language skills in interactive 3D environments that include offshore oil rigs, 3D television studios, and aviation zones. Taught in affiliation with Market Leader Live and Languagelabs, these virtual environments provide students with unique learning opportunities available anywhere, at any time. A delivery option that is truly immersive and highly motivating.

Accommodation & Transportation OEGC offers a variety of Accommodation options for students studying at OEGC. Students can choose the accommodation option that best suits their budget and preference. Apartment Suite: is for students looking for a private accommodation. and includes 24 hour security, internet, ulitlies, cable, and amenities. One Bedroom $400/week/ per person Two Bedroom $250/week/per person Student Homestay: is for a group of up to four students from different language backgrounds living in a house. Rooms are private with common living, and dining spaces. Some rooms include ensuite washrooms; This option includes internet, cable, and utilities. Single occupancy private room: $150/week/person Student Residences: are offered through local universities and colleges. It’s a great choice for students looking to experience the Canadian student life in a collegial atmosphere. Residence includes internet and 24 hour security. Single private room with common washroom facilities Shared occupancy with a student of the same gender but different native language Residence rooms are limited in number and subject to availability. Rooms should be booked no later than 2 months in advance. Reservations are in 4 week increments. Student Hostel: is a great place to meet people from all over the world coming to Canada to collectively study English. Hostels offer private and shared rooms that are available throughout the year. Prices vary according to location, season, and the number of students per room. Contact an OEGC Accommodation officer for assistance in finding you a new home in Canada. OEGC provides airport pick up and drop off services. An OEGC chartered driver will be at the airport to greet you and take you safely to your new home. We also provide transportation for group trips and excursions provided and organized by OEGC.

The Academic Committee was founded in 2012 during the implementation of the company strategy. The role of the Academic Committee is to review the operations of OEGC programs and services and to provide critical feedback and consultation to the Board of Directors. The prerogative of the AC is to ensure that OEGC’s standards of education and quality assurance are met and maintained. The members of the AC are distinguished professionals from prominent universities and esteemed representatives of the education industry. The AC has 6 members.

OEGC’s Academic Committee Members Dr. Nadeem Memon, PhD Nadeem is the Director of Education at Razi and a lecturer in the Faculty of Education at the University of Toronto and Wilfred Laurier University. With over twelve years experience in curriculum mapping, program development, and teacher training, Nadeem has worked with the Toronto District School Board, Centennial College, and Al Akhawayn University. Nadeem has facilitated education conferences, workshops, and symposia for teachers and faculty across North America. As a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto, he conducted work on educational leadership, professional learning communities, and social justice. Nadeem received his doctorate in the History and Philosophy of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. His research focused on teacher education and faculty development, with an emphasis on faith and spiritually based perspectives in education. At Razi, Nadeem leads a team of educators to develop professional teacher training programs for schools and universities. His interests lie in Islamic pedagogy and social justice. Nazneen Wajid: Nazneen Wajid is an OCT certified teacher from University of Toronto. She has been teaching for 18 years in private schools locally and internationally. Mrs. Wajid also holds a specialist degree in School Counseling and Management, and visual arts. She currently stands as the Development Coordinator for Madinatul Uloom Academy. Matilda Berg: Matilda Berg graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Health & Society from York University and a Bachelor of Education from Redeemer University College. She also possesses a degree in Dental Hygiene from George Brown College. She has 27 years of dental hygiene experience, the last 5 in education at the Oxford College of Arts, Business and Technology. Matilda Berg stands as a quality assurance assessor with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario, and have worked one summer with the Canadian Dental Accreditation Commission.

Dr. A B M Shamsur Rahman, PhD: Dr. Shamsur Rahman graduated with a Master of Science from Jahangirnagar University in Bangladesh and a Masters of Philosophy in Chemistry from the University of Glamorgan in England. He continued to pursue his PhD studies in Chemistry at Johannes Kepler University in Austria in 1999 and spent a year working at the Gene Function Research Institute in Japan before coming to Canada in 2005 where he worked at the University of Toronto in the Chemistry Department. He completed a Diploma course in Pharmaceutical and Analytical Chemistry and later graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor in Education. Sylvia Buchanan: Although I have worked in a great many fields over the years, I am primarily a traveler, photographer, artist, and teacher. The histories and stories I came to know helped shape my view and understanding of the cultural intricacies I found in a world that was constantly changing. I completed a degree in Fine Art, majoring in photography at York University in Toronto. As I continued to work among the many peoples of the world, my desire for greater knowledge brought me back into higher education where I completed a Masters in Education in Digital Technology at the University Of Ontario Institute Of Technology in Oshawa. That course of study pushed my creative mind to even greater levels of achievement and opened up a whole new way of thinking and learning for me. This in turn pushed me to delve deeper into these creative pursuits and soon after began a course of study in graphic design at the Digital Arts and Technology Training Institute in Sydney. Currently, I am the Program Director for the English Language Training Program at OEGC. Dr. Nicholas: Dr. Nicholas Herten-Greaven, MBBS (London) is a retired medical doctor, an experienced academic and consultant actively involved in the design, delivery and implementation of heath related programs for Colleges and Universities. Dr. Herten-Greaven is also an experienced educator and hands-on instructor with an in-depth knowledge of clinical research, particularly within the Canadian teaching hospital environment and healthcare system. He brings an unusual exposure to, and an in-depth understanding of the analysis of interface issues between practicing healthcare professionals such as clinical doctors, nurses and other delivery end streams, and research investigators, trialists, healthcare managers and the policy and procedure authorities that provide and deliver new knowledge to the sector in the first place.

Agreement and Medical Authorization I do waive and release all claims against OEGC for any loss, damage, injury, accident, and expenses resulting from my participation and study at OEGC.I release OEGC and agree to cover any financial obligations or liabilities that I may personally incur or any damage or injury to the person or property of others that I may cause during my study period at OEGC. I understand and acknowledge that OEGC is not responsible for any injury or loss caused by me while away from the OEGC campus. In the event that I become ill, injured or debilitated, I authorize OEGC, the local coordinator, or homestay family, to take such actions as any of them considers necessary, including medical treatment for me and transporting me back to my country, at my own expense. I understand that my participation at OEGC and in the accommodation program may be terminated at the sole discretion of OEGC without a refund of fees and that I may be sent home at my expense if I do not adhere to these rules, standards and instructions. I agree that Canadian law shall apply to this agreement and I agree to the jurisdiction of Canadian law.

Withdrawal Policy OEGC will issue a FULL REFUND, less program registration, administrative fees, and all bank transfer charges if you are unable to obtain an entry visa or study permit to Canada for the purpose of studying at OEGC. You must provide the letter issued to you from the Canadian Embassy stating that your Visa to enter Canada was denied. Students who have applied through an agent must contact the agent for a refund. Once you receive a study permit or entry visa:To withdraw from your program at OEGC, first provide a written letter stating your reason for withdrawing. You must demonstrate that your continued stay in Canada is legal and/or that you will be leaving the country. Students who have applied through an agent must contact the agent for a refund. OEGC will require proof that you are leaving Canada before the original departure date by showing a photocopied plane ticket. Once you have started studying, the first 4 weeks of your tuition and accommodatio are non-refundable. Please note that refunds may take up to 8 weeks to process. There are no refunds for students changing programs. Students who have obtained their visa with the help of a letter of acceptance issued by OEGC will be expected to complete their English language training at OEGC and will not be eligible for a refund. Refunds are calculated based on the unused portion of your tuition. Regarding accommodation, OEGC requires at minimum a 3 week written notice of any changes, cancellations, or postponements. Otherwise a 2 week accommodation fee will be applied. 30 days or more = 75% refund 30 days or less = 60% refund 15% of the course completed = 50% refund Up to 30% of the course completed = 40% refund After 30% completed = No refund
