neighbourhood market Locatoin: ATS, Zirakpur Winter 2017 | Group of 3 The design revolved around the thought to provide an environment where people of all age groups can experience commercial, cultural and social activities. The entire complex has been divided into various levels, creating different zones in the marketplace. Such pockets have been created for various types of markets , like the informal section which is at a sunken level. These are designed in manner that the circulation is also disabled friendly. The play of levels is complimented by contoured landscaping and directional pathways which add interest to the composition of the complex. the landscaping also creates shade in the open areas, improving the user experience at different times of the day. The climate has been addressed by use of pergolas and creation of microclimate at the oat through water body.

university library Location: Sector 14, Chandigarh Designed for 50,000 volumes Summer 2018 | Individual The library design aims to break the conventional image of libraries in the city of Chandigarh. It has been equipped with a central, self directing circulation for the convenience of the users. To make the design more than the traditional libraries, multiple uses are suggested in the design. The entrance doubles up as an exhibition for events within the library. The ground floor has the administration area and some AV rooms for visual learning aids. The design creates pockets and alcoves, so that group discussions can compliment learning without disturbing the conventional decorum of the library. The auditorium is placed on the second floor.

CONSULTANCY PROJECT AMBALA RAILWAY STATION Live Project | Team of 4
Ambala railway station is one of the most important node for Northern Railways. It is one of the busiest railway station being the gateway to Haryana from Chandigarh and Punjab, a lot of modal interchange takes place here for the capital city, New Delhi and various other places. Around 55,000 passengers and 310 trains arrive and depart from the station daily. To address the importance of the railway station, the redesign has been proposed on the lines of the existing form work of the railway station. The identity of the station in existing state has been respected and what becomes important at the moment is that people continue to connect psychologically with the railway station and enjoy the travel and affairs associated with the railway hub.
DESIGN THEME & DATA The redesign of the Ambala Cantt. Railway station was proposed around the time when the station had reached its peak in terms of being super-chaotic and after having been declared as one of the dirtiest stations of the country. The design theme or the concept is inspired from the Brutal style of architecture fused with the ancient archway systems. The identity of the station has been preserved as it was before. The raw exposed brick and concrete with modern glass gives it a grand and classical majestic character.
Facade redesigned to give a new and recognisable character.
Arcade to provide a barrier free pedestrian flow.
The major issues at Ambala Cantt. Railway station are as follow: 1. No spill out and breathable spaces inside the station area. 2. No. defined division between pedestrian and vehicular flow. 3. Insufficient parking areas inside the station premisses. 4. Maintainance of the landscape of the railway station. 5. Loss of identity and bare look of the building facade.
Clear and defined pedestrian and vehicular motion.

LAHORI TOLA
GANGA RIVER
COMPETITION LOUIS I. KAHN TROPHY Winter 2018 Team Leader | Team of 24 The Louis I. Kahn Trophy, sponsered by UNESCO is based on physical documentation and analysis of a heritage site which is undocumented and has unknown knowledge systems. The relevant data is reproduced digitally or by pen and ink and enters the UNESCO database as a heritage site “Benaras is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend and looks twice as old as all of them put together. -Mark Twain
SITE PLAN total dwellings in our site dwellings we documented dwellings we visited
The brief was to discover, document and analyse a previously undocumented, unregistered heritage structure, with a relevant cultural and social significance. We were expected to find a structure which represented exemplary techniques and knowledge systems. Lahori Tola, one of the oldest community of Varanasi, India is a great example of organic human settlements. The uncensored growth of this stone complex lead to a series of open and closed spaces, which created an interactive environment for the local people

The brief was to design a conceptual digital app for capturing local urban trails which would later be converted into a digital prototype by Coplug, a London based company. Architects see the world with creative lens. We capture our experiences through a range of mediums and build our ideas through inspirations that we came across in our environment.

Our design is based on -- Material design UI. -- Simple, Straightforward and aesthetic. -- User friendly. -- Empathy with nature. -- Interacts with the surroundings.
Our CONCEPT is based on empathy, senses and simplicity. Our main aim is to add features which interact with the environment so that users can explore the built environment, people and culture of a particular place with the best sense of belonging. Relating our app to the human experiencies and behaviour, we added sense features like sight and sound which responds to the built environment and help people to feel what a place will be like through our app. It indulges with the environment and lives with it. EXPLORE + We, as busy individuals only travel selected paths which are commute to offices and house, not having the ability to explore their own city. This feature, explore+ tells you some interesting places which are famous around them or are calm and pleasant. Taking information from the senses of the app, it lets you travel more and accurate, saving time.
SKETCH + Somtimes, apps dont show the desired path through which an individual wants to travel, which results in a boring straight forward ride. This feature, sketch+ allows the user to manipulate their own path through pen tool and app automatically captures the nearest path from the sketched path, hence results in freedom and a fun ride.
