BRAINPOWER The need to write things down in order to document, inform, or entertain, is something we as humans have been compelled to do throughout history. So the question beckons: What do we write in? Better question: What do your clients and colleagues use for this very important part of our lives? What if you could hand your peeps a journal so cool, and so classy, that they used it exclusively for all their day-to-day note taking needs? Not to toot our own horn here but we think this double-sided journal book we designed for a tech company, is one their recipients will definitely be getting a lot of use out of!

“I know many people laugh at me for being so ‘passionate about promo.’ I’m sure people wonder how anyone can be excited within such a commoditized industry. Fundamentally I get a buzz from seeing our team conjure an idea that elevates an everyday item. I love when I see our model play out. Creativity, thought, and concept came together in this journal book. I have no doubt the recipient will see this as one of the best (or close to it) promotional pieces they have received in many a year...Our design team knocked this one out of the park. Great job guys!”

COMPLETE CREATIVITY: CUSTOM COLORING BOOKS Mission:

The Hilton Club New York asked to create a fun and usable item that would be perfect for all the guests’ kiddos.

Solution:

We took the ultimate creative approach and designed a New York themed coloring book- complete with stickers, crayons, and a sturdy cinch bag to carry it all in as these youngsters toured the city. Each page was illustrated by hand (kudos to our Creative Director) and was based on all the must-see spots in NY.

KIEL IN THE PA Our multi-talented Creative Director, Kiel, was given the opportunity to fly all the way to Lancaster County to take photos of Retreat Addiction Center’s beautiful facility. Not only has Retreat trusted us to take care of all their promo needs, they entrusted us with the task of re-branding ALL of their print collateral for each location. We have redesigned brochures, rack cards, trade show banners - even extensive marketing booklets. In addition to this refresh, Retreat’s Marketing Coordinator requested brand new photos be taken of the campus and staff. They were so happy with Kiel’s work, that they are flying him to their Palm Beach location! (Yeah, being a Creative Director can be a hard life).

Ever wonder who’s behind all the commotion that makes your promo magic possible? Well, wonder no further! It’s time you got to know the Name Brand family. Meet Kiel and Cleo: the in-house creative duo. Our design team is one of the special ingredients that make Name Brand’s promo recipe so unique.

What is your role at Name Brand? KIEL: I’m the Creative Director, meaning I take care of (or delegate) all things creative for Name Brand. CLEO: Graphic Designer- takes care of all things creative that are delegated to me. Do you have an office nickname? KIEL: Smartest Guy in the Room (not always true) CLEO: My name was Chloe my first month or two here... Any line from a favorite movie? KIEL: “With great power comes great responsibility.” -Uncle Ben (Spider-Man) CLEO: “I believe there’s a hero in all of us.” -Aunt May (Spider-Man) If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you? KIEL: A fusion of Russell Crowe and Chris Pratt. CLEO: Beyonce. Which cartoon character would you most like to switch lives with? KIEL: Superman, no contest. CLEO: Batman all the way. (Office feud begins now, Kiel)

What is your hidden talent? KIEL: I’m pretty musical and play four different instruments. CLEO: None. I make sure all my talents are well-known. What kinds of hobbies do you have outside of work? KIEL: I play a lot of different sports, mostly indoor soccer and beach volleyball. CLEO: I read comic books and frequent the underground dance battle scene. What TV show/movie are you ashamed to admit you love? KIEL: I really liked LOST, even the ending... CLEO: Pokemon... before it got cool again What would people never guess that you do in your role? KIEL: People think I look at cat videos all day. CLEO: I run all of our social media handles #PromoDoneRight Would you rather be a tiny elephant, or a giant hamster? KIEL: Tiny elephant, because having my nose also be a hand sounds interesting. CLEO: Giant hamster, I’d like to be as close to a real life Pikachu as possible.

What is your favorite part about working for Name Brand Promotions?

KIEL:

I love the variety of the type of work. Every day I get to work on several different brands that go on several different types of gear and no two days look alike. I’ve visited factories, flown to amazing cities, and photographed facilities that I’d never have been able to do were I to not have worked here. It’s pretty great.
