Group Residence Housing Interiors Academic Project Project 4th 3rd Year Academic Year Type: Residential Interiors Type: Site: Sector Nueva, 25, Delhi Site: Dwarka, Delhi Partner: Talha Abbasi Partner: Sunshine Jayant

CONCEPT AND AIM: Located in one of the prominent areas of New Delhi, India, the project has been devised with a concentric thought of preserving the thriving tree-scape of the site. Our main aim is to accentuate the authenticity of the site and conceptualize in sync with the mature gardens that are punctuated by a swimming deck, stretched along the entire front length of the building. Merging the organic environment with the interior spaces helps us to increase the connectivity with the site context and the nature

DINING: 8 seater dining table with a rectangular pendant light on top. Colour palette includes colors such as mocha, cotton seed, crocodile, etc.

ENTRANCE LOBBY: Here, we used a grey colour corner sofa with a round rosewood finish coffee table and an armchair with solid walnut wood legs

We wanted to merge the organic environment with the interior space therfore chose warm tones. Using earth tones to tie inside with outside

KITCHEN: We used titanium finish oven with a french door fridge to compliment our colour palatte. Wall shelves with white stained oak and a rectangular hanging LED light gives it a more contemporary look.

Contemporary interiors give extra attention to natural light levels. This means including not only large windows, but also smaller windows on multiple sides of a room to bring in a natural light level that provides enough light to see by without compromising privacy or brightness levels.

BEDROOMS: The colour palatte for the bedrooms was more of pale oyester and expresso colors. To contrast the wall colours, we used an off white bedroom chair with cream color sheets and pillows. Also, a Nodeland medium brown bookcase and a single door wooden almirah to compliment the solid wood coffee table

BATHROOM A goal of contemporary interiors is to integrate aesthetically pleasing aspects into the overall design plan while minimizing unnecessary structural add-ons. Here, we used wall mounted undersink cabinets with a table top basin and the hanging lights over the basin for a play with light and shadow. A wall mounted WC with a matt black finish and a stainless steel wall mounted unit contrast with the marble finish basin and rain glass shower door.

Group Housing Academic Project 4th Year Type: Residential Site: Dwarka, Delhi Partner: Sunshine Jayant

CONCEPT Urban village: typically characterized by medium density housing, mixed use zoning, good public transit and an emphasis on pedestrianization and public space. Seen to provide an alternative to recent patterns of urban development in many cities, especially decentralization and urban sprawl (spreading out over a large area in an untidy and irregular way)

STRATEGY:

BLOCK PLANS: • • • • •

Inner Activated : Leaving the traffic behind and parallel to urban extension road. Venturi Effect: Smaller pockets for in, larger pockets for opposite direction. Interlocking Clusters: Staggered decks, mutual shading, can also access from neighboring blocks. Maintaining The Logic Of Dwelling Functions: Combining 2-3 or 1-2 type of dwelling units together. Balcony Combined Terrace: terraces being 2 floors high, giving illusion of both; balcony and terrace. Every person/dwelling having their own personal balcony which cannot be overlooked by your neighbor.

Convention Convention Center Center Academic AcademicProject Project3rd 3rdYear Year Type: Type:Commercial Commercial Site: 25, Delhi Site:IICC, IICC,Dwarka Sector sector 25, Dwarka, Delhi

CONCEPT - OPEN HANDS The theme of the project is inspired by the indian culture. Not disturbing the same, the concept of the convention center is open hands which is more like a welcoming gesture for the guests

INCLINED COLUMNS: Struts are provided on the side elevations at an angle of 20 degrees for adding conceptual elements and aesthetic purposes.

SITE PLAN:

SELF SUPPORTING CURVED GLASS ROOF: Supported over a steel structure, the curved glass roof appears to lie on a buuilding like a light cloth. However, spans the two storey passage like a vault. This is actually solar glass which provides energy for various functions in building And also some level of transparency.

CONNECTIVITY FOR TWO BLOCKS: Since there is a level difference of 2 meters on the first floor, the auditorium and the seminar halls are connected on the first floor via ramp for easy access back and forth

EXHIBITION HALL: Designed with a more complex scheme combining linear, loop and core satellite arrangement of spaces which is specifically structured to account for more or less stable relationship between collections and interpretative themes.
