ABSTRACT Event Description Programme

Sand Table Shanghai

Event Description Objective

ST Shanghai, host and initiated by New York University Shanghai, is a regional businessassociated intellectual competition among top colleges in Shanghai. The competitors, wan internationally applied business model “Sand Table� to imitate real corporate operation and market place.

Goals

ST Shanghai aims at gathering, as well as connecting excellent students, who are equipped with outstanding senses of marketing and strategic management. With English as its official language, ST Shanghai encourages integrations, involvements, and communications of students from different majors, colleges, cultural backgrounds and nationalities.

Impact

In collaboration with Golden Finance, one of the most established financial education agency in China, ST Shanghai is also supported by numerous enterprises, banks and corporates, including PWC, Ernst&Young, KPMG, SCB(Standard Chartered Bank), etc. We also invite media participation to report and record the whole activity process. ST Shanghai is bound to impose a great as well as positive impact both on the student body and on the society. Also, students involved are bound to witness individual progresses in their future academic and career performances.

Breakthrough

This is the first time that Sand Table will be used in the field of student education, enlightenment and inspiration. Also, it serves as a breakthrough that students are encouraged to participate in a business competition, not only theoretically but also practically. It is going to be a concentration of team spirit, individual capability, and business application, as well as a platform of major-level, university-level, and culturallevel exchange.

HUMAN RESOURCE Introduction The work of HR mainly consists of three parts: Competition Ambassadors Recruitments and Training, Selection of participants and the organization of the ST Competition. Two HRs and their assistants are in charges of the general process of ST competition, while Competition Ambassadors will each lead a group of participants and be responsible for the affairs of his or her group in the duration of the two weeks. Competition Ambassadors also help handling some trivial things while they don’t have much work about their groups.
