NAOMI WONG UNDERGRADUATE ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO
about me
Hi I’m Naomi Wong, architecture student and self-taught artist currently studying at Singapore University of Technology & Design. I believe architecture is the greatest artform as it is the intersection between math, science, art & design. It should be accessible to everyone as a means to inspire and appreciate design, I also enjoy arts & craft, especially when making for others.

Connectivity Dhoby Ghaut SUTD Satellite Campus This project aims to address thresholds, intersections, and flexibility in spaces. Projects will explore spatial strategies to foster interaction, openness and flexibility in learning spaces. The SUTD Learning Center is the university’s downtown anchor among the network of universities and institute of higher learning. A number of programmatic functions will be accommodated: flexible space for public events, and providing basic learning spaces, lecture theatres, exhibition spaces, cafe and administrative offices. Control of natural lighting and cross-ventilation will be addressed in the design, as well as articulation of spaces that foster interaction and collaborative work.
Being connected is part of our everyday lives. We are connected to places, activities and people. However in recent years, while we have been more connected than ever, the phrase ‘ being alone together’ has been circulating around. Despite people being more connected with their phones, are they also less connected as physical interactions with others decrease. This learning centre aims to connect people while connecting them to places. It creates an environment that allows students and users of the building to have more meaningful interactions.

In between One north Meditation Space This is the first architecture project assigned to us and the objective of it was to help students understand circulation paths. Circulation is a key concept in this project. On top of that, students are to introduce their own concept of the meaning of mediation. This concept should be key in shaping the way they design the meditation space in Onenorth. InBetween , my project, defines meditation as a spectrum. Hence, it is designed to cater to a range of users - from indivduals to large groups. This space would have a place for everyone. Meditation is also a spectrum for what one meditates upon. InBetween also aims to cater to this range by creating flexible spaces that can fulfil those needs.
From more open cheery group friendly chatter, to melancholy self reflections. Meditation exists in a spectrum. Stuck between two friends, conflicting choices, between milestones in life. Wandering through a spaces that weaves, indoor and outdoors, nooks and crannies, Ups and downs of life. We take a journey through space time and life.

WHUT Supply Logo Design
WHUT Supply is a brand that my schoolmates and I kickstarted. Apart from handling finance in the team of 3, I have designed a few things for the brand, such as the logo, namecard and our most popular tshirt (as shown in picture). This shirt was designed in collaboration with local music event, Rockafall. The shirt design was well recieved by band members of the event, concert attendees and the general public (as it was also promoted at a local art market , Public Garden).
