"We created the Napa Valley Film Festival after producing, premiering (Sundance, January 2008) and distributing our first feature film Bottle Shock. Much like the subject of the film—Napa's 1970s farmers dreaming of making wine as good as the French—we envisioned a film festival for Napa Valley combining the best attributes of Sundance, Toronto, Telluride and Cannes."

SPECIAL SCREENING - VOX LUX 1:00pm Screening | Uptown Theatre, Napa Follow two teenage sisters Celeste and Eleanor as they survive a seismic, violent tragedy. The sisters compose and perform a song about their experience, making something lovely and cathartic out of catastrophe - while also catapulting Celeste to stardom. PATRON CIRCLE OPENING NIGHT RECEPTION HOSTED BY INSPIRATO 3:00pm | Archer Hotel, Napa Enjoy a glass of wine and small bites on the rooftop of the new Archer Hotel hosted by Inspirato before walking the red carpet at the Opening Night Film.

November 7 AWARDS SEASON PRESENTATION GREEN BOOK 5:00pm Red Carpet | 5:30pm Screening Uptown Theatre In Green Book, Tony Lip, a bouncer from an Italian- American neighborhood in the Bronx, is hired to drive Dr. Don Shirley, a world-class Black pianist, on a concert tour from Manhattan to the Deep South, they must reply on "The Green Book" to guide them to the few establishments that were then safe for African-Americans. OPENING NIGHT VIP PARTY 8:00pm – 11:00pm | Italics Winegrowers Celebrate NVFF Opening Night with the filmmakers and subjects from the Opening Night films, VIP film industry guests, celebrities,and top sponsors. Members of our Patron Circle enjoy a high energy and indulgent evening hosted by Italics Winegrowers in their beautiful caves to officially kick off this year's film festival.

Ten uniquely talented chefs will showcase their fresh spin on dishes inspired by iconic film scenes. A distinguished panel of celebrity chefs, filmmakers, and actors sample the dishes (along with all attending guests), and then “dish” about personal favorites, the latest culinary trends, and the role of food in film. Chef Tyler Florence heads the panel, moderated by Variety’s Steve Gaydos.

The festival’s starriest night. Access' Natalie Morales hosts an entertaining evening honoring Laurence J. Fishburne III and Billy Bob Thornton. Clips from the actors’ careers are followed by onstage conversations and a presentation of special keepsakes from Charles Krug Winery, Caldwell Vineyard and Raymond Vineyards.

FESTIVAL DRESS CODE For the most part, Napa Valley is casual in a stylish and chic manner. For evening events, we encourage dressing-to-impress. The Festival Gala is the most "fancy", with men in colorful jackets and suits and women in everything from party dresses to ball gowns. FAQs GETTING AROUND Each Festival Village is approximately nine miles apart as you travel up-and-down the valley, with nearly 30 miles between Napa and Calistoga. Travel time between villages can vary, especially on the weekends or during rush hour. If you must travel from one village to another, you can use your own car (though please festival responsibly), or call Uber (more active in the valley), or for prearranged private transportation, please call Rose at Beau Wine Tours at 707.257.0887.
