Nina’s career has encompassed 32 years in the field of banking. Prof Varkkey serves as the India Research Coordinator for the Paycheck India project, part of the global Wageindicator project. This is an international labour and employment research project initiated by group of researchers, organizations, journalists and trade unions. The Indian research portal can be accessed at www. paycheck.in . The current focus of paycheck is on the IT/ITES industry in India, with emphasis on labour market characteristics, HR policies and employment relations. The project team is working to partner in the proposed 75 country compensation research project with possible support from ILO and EU, possibly taking the regional research coordination role for South Asia and Middle East.
