Progress
We’re now ‘walking the talk’, recording details for all relevant projects enabling us to measure our progress on delivery. We are averaging an overall score of 70% on our priority goals and are reviewing how the SDGs have influenced our work and which goals require more focus in the future so we can improve performance.
So, what difference have we made?

Here a few examples of what we have done to date and what impact has been made to projects:
Architecture
We exceeded Building Regulations CO2 emissions targets by 28% on a new office campus in landscaped grounds. Over a fifth (22%) of the energy requirement for the campus is sourced from on-site energy renewable technology, exceeding the UK target.
Heritage Planning
We recently gained listed building consent to replace the glass panes in a Grade II listed Georgian Townhouse’s sash windows with new vacuum insulating glazing – this is one of the first homes in Bath. This will greatly improve the energy efficiency whilst retaining the historical integrity and we are already applying this approach to other similar projects.
We carried out a range of public and stakeholder engagement events to develop a masterplan and phasing strategy for the regeneration of the centre of a housing estate. This included street stalls, community workshops, oneto-one meetings, coffee mornings, attendance at the local festival and a series of exhibitions. This is one of the largest community-led development projects in the country and the masterplan vision was supported by around 80% of responders due to the inclusive nature of the engagement process. The project was ‘Highly Commended’ Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) South-West Awards for Planning Excellence.
Placemaking
On one of our brownfield regeneration masterplan projects we have prioritised walking, cycling and public transport use and minimised space for vehicles. There are extensive car-free areas, one parking space per five apartments, and provision for use of low emissions vehicles with inclusion of an EV vehicle and cycle hire facility at its centre.
Individual Homes
We saved 20% of the cubic volume on a new-build individual home scheme, through clever design and questioning of the original brief, which means there is less consumption of building materials and less energy required for heating, but no loss of any brief desirables.
We reduced heating bills by 80% on one of our retrofit estate regeneration projects through a fabric-first approach which has added a bit more insulation in the right place to massively reduce energy demand.
