When making the rounds during party season, it’s imperative to leave the house prepared. That starts with lining your chic bag with everything you will need to refresh your look or to handle little emergencies that might pop up en route. The choices are endless when it comes to beauty options, so we’ve narrowed it down to a science in stashing exactly what you’ll need for any occasion.

Here, makeup artist and skin care professional, CARMEN MABRY, gives us her list of absolute essentials for an inventory that will have you prepared for anything, no matter how many parties you have to stop by in a single night or how late it gets in the process.

TERRYBLY DENSILISS CONCEALER ($69, PRIVATE EDITION) This anti-aging concealer from By Terry just taps on to cover and clear up dark circles and puffiness. Oil-free and long-lasting.

THE ORIGINAL BEAUTY BLENDER OR MICRO MINI ($18-20, COSMETIC MARKET) The revolutionary applicator is still the best. Dampen slightly and blend for all kinds of blunders and placing product onto face. I keep several in my bag, always.

SURRATT BEAUTY’S SURREAL SKIN FOUNDATION WAND ($65, PRIVATE EDITION) The portable wand with built in anti-bacterial brush minimizes pores and makes reapplying or touch ups a breeze.

CHANEL LE GEL PAILLETÈ TRANSLUCENT SHIMMERING GEL ($50, DILLARD’S) Get it while you can! Limited Edition out now. Can use on face, body, shoulders – just pat on for sheer, glamorous finish.

OMOROVICZA MAGIC MOISTURE MIST ($95, PRIVATE EDITION) This hero product fights pollutants with antioxidants, smells amazing, instantly brightens skin and takes years off of the look of your face. It’s a must!

SISLEY’S SO VOLUME MASCARA ($65, PRIVATE EDITION) It’s a splurge, but also a false-lash alternative as it builds. Count on highdefinition results and no clumping, with the added bonus of peptides, vitamins, and natural extracts to condition and spur growth.

GLOSSIER CLOUD PAINT (WWW.GLOSSIER.COM) Brighten cheeks and even eyelids with the dab of finger and a little blend. Puff is my shade of choice, but there are 6 to choose from to match any skin tone.

THE HANGOVER PATCH ($5, COSMETIC MARKET) Whether you are having cocktails or abstaining, the combination of vitamins, electrolytes and minerals are a welcome boost during the busy and cold season.

PAT MCGRATH LAB PERMAGEL ULTRA GLIDE EYE PENCIL (WWW.PATMCGRATH.COM) The texture is smooth and creamy but remains in place with the little plus of some shimmer in the pigmentation for extra sparkle. The Blitz Brown is a nice alternative to black.

NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM AND/OR TINTED LIP OIL ($6-8, WALGREENS) Leave your costly lip compacts and products at home. These little wonders are inexpensive, long-wearing, and will not dry out lips. Small enough to throw 2-3 in even the smallest clutch or pocket. I like the shade Budapest, but there are 38 shades so you can find your own.

BOBBY PINS (ANY DRUGSTORE FOR PENNIES) Yes, for pinning up your hair in a snap or managing strays, but also wonderful to have in a pinch. They can temporarily hold a wrangled hem or zipper, jewelry clasp and even stand in for a missing button on dark clothing. Use them to reapply a loose false lash or strip, too.

NASHVILLE EDIT TEAM PICKS

Since we know a little bit about covering multiple events weekly, we had to weigh in with a few of our go-to’s found in our own clutches and sparkling cross-body bags. Here’s our ride or die list:

Lots of lip gloss―loving the new SAINT JANE MICRODOSE LIP GLOSS. It’s infused with 50mg pure CBD (the first gloss to do this). Luxurious oils and non-sticky consistency, sheer glossy finish, it’s all the things we love! ($28 each and we adore every shade available; at Neiman Marcus or SaintJaneBeauty.com). We also like to throw in the ultimate standby shiner, DIOR’S LIP MAXIMIZER in the sheerest pink ($34 at Dillard’s). Mini’s are our favorites for everything else, including DIOR SHOW or CHANEL MASCARAS and JO MALONE FRAGRANCES (from gift sets and beauty counters at Dillard’s), hand creams from BURT’S BEES or REVISION SKINCARE, hair ties for immediate pony-tail situations, TRIDENT WHITE GUM, mini dental flossers, mints and a chic little keychain/wallet in bronze (Gus Mayer) to hold the necessary ID’s and ATM card.
