1/ DANGER OF HURRICANES
Extensive damage may be caused by flying debris that may be picked up and hurled with great velocity. These missiles constitute one of the greatest dangers to personnel and property. In addition, the ocean has been known to rise as much as 7 feet over the island.
2/ HURRICANE SEASON
The period from 1 June to 30 November is commonly known as Hurricane Season in this area.
3/ HURRICANE CONDITIONS
will be set by the Commanding Officer as follows:

Normal weather during Hurricane Season

The path of the hurricane has been fairly well established. Its trend indicates a possible threat of wind of destructive force within 72 hours near Key West
CONDITION

The hurricane has assumed a definite path which threatens Key West and winds of hurricane force may be expected within 48 hours
CONDITION

The track of the hurricane has been definitely established and winds of hurricane force may be expected within 24 hours
CONDITION
1
Winds of destructive force indicated are an imminent threat, expected to reach the Key West area within 8 to 10 hours
