Google launches Android Nougat 7.0 with some unmatched features

5 months after its beta release, Google Nougat is out and rolling on selected Android devices. This latest version of Android mobile OS, Android 7.0 Nougat is up for the users of Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, and other Pixel C devices along with the General Mobile 4G (Android One smartphone) Just after over-the-air rollout suggesting concerned users to update to Android 7.0 Nougat, Google made a couple of things available for those users who might not like to wait for the update notification. This initiative was done by making factory images and OTA zips files available for the end users.

Although this looks like a service gimmick, it is still a Google’s customary way of getting things right. But what’s unusual here is that the company took an entire day for this while factory images and OTA zips were made available to only three of the braced devices.

Nougat 7.0 for selected devices only As an owner of eminent Android application Development Company, I thought, Android 7.0 Nougat might get you irresistible if you haven’t already used the developer preview on your Nexus devices. And for those of you who are eager to get your hands on this latest update Android update then you do not need to worry about rooting the Nexus device. Users aren’t required to root their devices for upgrading process as it is possible to switch back to the ultimate consumer version of the OS if needed. Android N Developer Preview was, for the first time, extended to a non-Nexus device in the form of Xperia Z3.

Updating to Nougat 7.0 All you need to is to hit straight on the Google’s Android Beta Program website on your Nexus smartphone or other supported devices. And then, do the following; -

Signing in from Google account that is synced with the device.

-

And then, just tap on 'Your eligible devices' to find out your device and press the 'Enrol device' button.

Once the process is completed, you can expect to receive an OTA update that will help you reap the advantages of fully fledged Android 7.0 Nougat OS Getting Nougat 7.0 for your device

Also, quite noticeable thing is that if you ignore the update by hanging on to your old Beta version, you still will receive the future maintenance releases as well. If we compare the billions of Android users, the ones that will be using Android Nougat 7.0 update are only a few. Compared to the total number of Android users, these numbers are relatively small to almost negligible.

We all are aware of how notorious an OS the Android is when it comes to fragmentation. If Google opts to push the updated manufacturer and other OS need to test it and then can roll out discretely. And this process is actually tiresome for the carriers as it can take several months altogether. Perhaps this is the reason why some of the previous devices like BlackBerry Priv and Oneplus 2 got an Android Marshmallow update six months post its launch. And this is the reason why plenty of other smartphone manufacturers are refraining from throwing a date for their official, fully-fledged Android 7.0 Nougat update. Few of the carrier-branded device are expected to make this update a little too sluggish to be anticipated.

Before dwelling on to the few of the improved features offered by Android Nougat 7.0, one must be happily aware that split screen multitasking and notifications have improved to a great extent ďƒ¨ Features of Android Nougat 7.0 Multitasking: The most exciting thing about the new Android 7.0 Nougat is that it is more useful on tablets. Although, it doesn't mean that Android is implementing multitasking for the first time as we have seen more of it with Samsung’s Galaxy devices that have integrated the multi-window experience. However, this isn’t the first time we have seen multitasking on Android. Samsung Galaxy devices have had multi-window experience for quite some time now. While multi-tasking is certainly a big deal as smartphones because this is where users can leverage on big screens and smarter displays. Indeed it enables users to multitask easily within the realms of their fingertips. Nougat 7.0 takes a page from Cyanogen’s quick settings feature blended with a dash of Android’s stock UI. There is also an interesting feature of Quick Switch allowing users to toggle between the last used apps by simple double taps on the multitasking button. Updating notification pattern: Android 7.0 Nougat just reflects how Google has become proficient in the art of bringing in various notifications patters. Nougat 7.0 integrates the intelligence to blend unified app notifications wherein it combines notification from the similar app and gives quick access to reply to the notification itself.

While one touch replies were priorly introduced with Hangouts, but the same is now widely used in the mobile app, at every possible stage. And there is where Google taps into incorporating one-touch reply, enabling Android 7.0 Nougat users to promptly reply to any of the notifications without the need of opening the app. Security: One of the most frequently faced issues with the android OS is the way how Google handles its security. It is here where Android Nougat 7.0 adds choices for unified updates, dedicated file-based encryption, and feature to direct boot.

Android being an open source comes with a set of its own vulnerability, dealing with a number of multiple security issues. What makes it worst is a targeting a company-specific component to exploit its vulnerabilities. There is nothing much Google can do about it for now and this worry might stay around for quite a time.

Other prominent features: Now faster 3D rendering is possible with Android Nougat 7.0 as it ropes in native support for Vulkan API. This new set of API holds a potential to deliver better graphic experience flagship devices along with the other low-end devices. Android 7.0 Nougat that OS brings has a provision to run efficiently on Daydream-ready phones, assuring a better mobile VR experience for its users. Conclusion: Android 7.0 Nougat is bound to gratify Android users with smoother animation, a clean, neat UI, and other multitasking functionalities. The only thing that may provoke concern is the device security when it comes to updating the current version. Other than that, Android Nougat is bound to lure the Android users.
