performative urbanism

The project is generated by the concept of endlessness, initially achieved at a large scale where the light/sunlight projects on certain transparent parts of a physical model creating enigmatic shadows, light reflections and light refractions. This centralized and continuous loop of movement and centrifugal projection of light is translated to spiral ramps that are emended in a landscape site and are organized as a continuation of the hill contour lines. These ramps become the media library, reading rooms and accommodate 14

of

books.

06 ECO MARINA

Traditionally, the Bedouins of the Arabian Peninsula lived a nomadic lifestyle; scattered and constantly on the move from one destination to the next. As such, the land in its entirety, with its magnificent and diverse landscapes, was their home.

Following were

redefine

traditional structure of the Marina to encapsulate this nomadic style of living. A typical Marina consists of a main dock branching out from the land and connected to several

The urban planning concept is a weblike composition of all the elements which define a successful community. Green nodes link all neighborhoods through shaded accessible pathways. Each node houses a different activity creating destinations between neighborhoods. Families live together in a socially vibrant atmosphere, creating oppurtunities for bonding, growth and forming new friendships.

09 WATERFRONT MASTERPLAN

Located in Albania, the Waterfront site is perfectly positioned within the greater context to allow for much needed urban renewal of this area. The masterplan aims to create a connection between the old city and the modern idea of a waterfront. By moving gradually from “village inspired

apartment

towards buildings,

and finally into the iconic tower overlooking the entire waterfront, the transition is made gradual and is

experienced by the user.
