Day 1 Posadas / Encarnación / Posadas. D Arrival and reception at Posadas Airport. Transfer to Encarnación (Paraguay) in order to visit two Jesuit Reductions, declared Cultural Heritage Site. We start with Trinidad del Parana Ruins, where we visit the remains of its imposing church and admire this sophisticated construction. Then, we continue to Jesus of Tavarangue Ruins, the only ones
with Moorish style, three big gates and well-conserved buildings. After the visit, return to Posadas for accommodation. Total travelled distance: 164 km (102 miles) Travel time: 6 hours
Day 2 Posadas / São Miguel / Posadas. B L D Departure towards San Xavier Pier to cross Uruguay River and then continue towards the Ruins of São Miguel Das Missões (1634), which was the capital of the Missions in Southern Brazil. Its renaissance style church was built in 1735, with stones brought by the aborigines from 20 km away. We visit the interesting museum, which includes pieces from the missions spread all over the region. In the afternoon, return to the hotel. Total travelled distance: 560 km (348 miles) Travel time: 11 hours
Day 3 Posadas / Puerto Iguazú. B L Departure towards Puerto Iguazú. On the way, we approach to the Jesuit history, passing through the Santa Ana and
Nuestra Señora de Loreto Ruins (1632). Arrival at San Ignacio Mini Ruins (1632) and visit to one of the best preserved ruins. UNESCO has declared these three ruins and Santa María La Mayor as Cultural Heritage Site. After that visit, we continue towards Puerto Iguazú while we observe the yerba mate plantations. Accommodation. Total travelled distance: 308 km (191 miles) Travel time: 7 hours
Day 4 Puerto Iguazú. B L In the morning, we visit the Argentinian side of the Iguazú Falls, declared Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO and one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World. We explore the Garganta del Diablo Balcony, Upper and Lower walkways from where you are able to take the Great Adventure as an optional tour, sailing in a zodiac that provides a closer contact with the falls, to then visit the rainforest. Return to the hotel. Day 5 Puerto Iguazú. B At the morning, we arrive at Foz
do Iguaçu (Brazil) and visit the waterfalls on the Brazilian side. We enter the Park and walk along the only path that leads to Garganta del Diablo’s viewpoint. While we walk, we are able to appreciate a panoramic view of almost all the falls. Return to Puerto Iguazú to board your scheduled flight. Operational notes Day 1: It is required a flight arriving early in the morning. Please, avoid starting the tour on Saturdays or Sundays due to the high flow at the border. Day 5: It is required a departure flight after 3 PM.
