Map of Tassie Tour – March 2017 In March 2017, Pelican 1 embarks on a unique twelve-day circumnavigation of Tasmania and has just ten places available for this extraordinary adventure. Stopovers will include King Island, Gordon on Franklin, Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), Wineglass Bay, the remote Kent Group of Islands and much more. Pelican 1 is a 62-foot sailing catamaran, whose design is inspired by Polynesian migratory canoes that have a 5,000-year heritage. It is an exceptional platform for conducting scientific research, and for bringing together people and communities for knowledge-sharing and unforgettable experiences at sea. This trip is complementary to Pelican 1’s soon to be launched Pozible campaign, which aims to raise essential support funding for Pelican 1’ s work. Delicious meals will be served onboard. You will be able to help with the sails and watches if you desire, retreat to your private cabin and read a book or kick back with a drink as the days unfold. You may wake to one of the most beautiful destinations on the planet, the sounds of a squall in the southern ocean at night or the bustle of Hobart’s cultural heart.
