DELWP are looking for members of the whale watching community to contribute to a citizen science project, collecting photo-identification data on the Critically Endangered Southern Right Whale. You are invited to come along to a training workshop to learn more about the Southern Right Whale photo-identification research program. You will be taught how to identify individual whales, how they are catalogued and what types of photographs (and associated data) we need for identification purposes. This training workshop is a pilot, aimed at providing additional information for those people already actively contributing data to the photo-identification catalogue or keen cetacean photographers who could potentially contribute quality images. We hope to broaden the participation list in future years. The workshop will be presented by Dr. Kasey Stamation, Arthur Rylah Institute.
Workshop Details Location: Ramada Resort Phillip Island - 2128 Phillip Island Rd, Cowes Date: Wednesday 23rd May 2018 Time: 5:30pm welcome and dinner for a 6:30pm start. Finishing at 8:00pm Catering: a light dinner will be provided along with tea and coffee
