The following book documents my projects as a design student at Flagler college. I am currently studying both graphic design and international business, hoping to one day reach a level of creative director or member of an editorial board and ultimately be traveling extensively for said job. These works are the first stepping stones in my career as far as developing my skills and testing out various styles of design. The following projects came with a challange and my own approach to solving it - as a more business minded person, these have been vital to hone in on my own creative style. In the future I hope to find my niche as a woman in both business and graphic design to prove the two worlds of art and mathematics together can create a succesful future.

CH AL LENGE Use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to create a book cover series. That’s not all! Paintings from the medieval times to the revolutionary period - a total of seven imagesmust be combined to create one cohesive and contemperary book cover.

Searched for relatedable art pieces throughout the time periods that could symbolize themes in the novels chosen: In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, The Awakening by Kate Chopin, and Lord of the Flies by William Golding.

Create a custom set of icons with a common theme using Adobe Illustrator. 12 of flat black and white icons, 12 of white on black, 12 using color, and another 12 to do as you wish freely.
Solution
I chose to create a set of icons for one to use in a situation of being at a surf contest, the icons include: wave report, rankings, heat sign in, photography, spectator area, bathrooms, apparel, announcer, lifegaurd, judges booth, and contest parking.

CH AL LENGE Create a minimalist triptych using three words (thick rope, Translucent fish scales, and moth wing pattern) to illustrate a story for the audience. My unique sentences were: “ As I pulled in the thick rope connecting my boat to the dock, I noticed it was lighter than usual and was getting transluscent fish scales all over my hands. As It came into focus instead of my boat being at the end of the rope it was a severed arm with an eccentric moth wing pattern tattooed on the forearm..�
S OLU TION
Using mostly pen tool and some effects in Adobe Illustrator, I created a grim scene portraying the same imagery as the story. 16
