BEHIND THE MARK RATIONALE Welcome to the Hyatt Regency brand. The hexagonal nature of the logo design serves as a visual metaphor of the guest’s journey, embracing all spaces and touchpoints of his or her stay. A place to which guests can get away and enjoy the amenities that each property has to offer. The collaborative experience of the Hyatt Regency brand is reinforced by the overlapping concept, which creates a visual representation of the connections and conversations that take place in our hotels. Shapes are designed to mimic the functionality of our hotels ; they are organic, dynamic and visually elegant.

COLOR PALETTE Inspiration

COLOR PALETTE INSPIRATION The Hyatt Regency brand’s color palette was inspired by the locations, architecture and design of our hotels and resorts.

AUBERGINE

The hero color, known as Aubergine, was selected to break out from competitors and connect to the psychological meaning of purple. Commonly associated traits of purple include: integrity, creativity, inventiveness and premium service. Resorts colors (Orange and Teal) were selected to complement Aubergine and were inspired by the unique resort locations, architecture and design. Each hotel or resort will use one color for their visual identity, which includes the logo mark and its supporting communications materials. Please do not use more than one color in your identity. The hero color for each property should reflect the mood and color of the hotel’s surroundings.

GRAY This color is a complementary color and can be used in any of the communication materials. In specific cases, Gray can also be used in place of the hero color. SILVER Silver can only be achieved through the Pantone Matching SystemÂŽ (PMS). This color may only be used for printed materials and should not be used in digital applications. Since using metallic inks are usually more expensive, individual budget constraints should be taken into account before deciding to use silver in printed materials.

RESORT HERO LOGOS The Teal and Orange logo versions represent the Hyatt Regency brand resorts. Resorts will choose one of the logo versions to use but should not use both logos. Resorts may also choose the Aubergine resort logo if they do not feel like the Teal or Orange represents their brand experience.

SAFE AREA ENSURING THE PROMINENCE OF THE LOGO Clear space is the area surrounding the logo that is free of any graphics, partner identities or typography. This space ensures the logo is easily recognized and prominent in all communications. The minimum clear space on all four sides of the brand logo is equal to the width of the “H” in the word mark HYATT. Where possible, we recommend expanding the clear space to two ”H”s or more.

BRAND PHOTOGRAPHY Photographic Tone

PHOTOGRAPHIC TONE CLEAN, DYNAMIC, CONTEMPORARY & GENUINE Beautiful photography is a very important part of the Hyatt Regency brand’s marketing. All photography should visually communicate the originality and individual qualities of the hotel as well as its guests. This communication is referred to as the photographic tone. It should always be elegant, simple, true to the brand and strive to show authentic and local experiences at a Hyatt Regency brand hotel. Photos should feel modern, fresh and vibrant. Image quality should be crisp, clear and feel high-end. Photography should also illustrate the variety of services, products and facilities highlighted at the property. Images, both macro and detailed, should focus on the product architecture, exterior and interior, as well as emphasize the prime location’s unique selling points (e.g. Aruba is famous for its seafood cuisine and nightlife). When people are shown in the photograph, make sure they appear natural and aspirational. They should never look stiff or fake. The viewer should feel like they can relate to them. Their inclusion must always enhance the composition rather than detract from it. Anticipate layout options when setting up each shot and if applicable, shoot each subject matter as a horizontal and vertical image. Take wide, medium, and close-up shots to ensure you have a good variety to use for your marketing materials. DO NOT • Do not vignette the edges or add borders. • Do not cut out or use photos without backgrounds. • Do not use silhouettes. You should be able to clearly see the subjects and their faces. • Do not overly pose the subjects. • Do not overly stage the scene.

LIFESTYLE CAUGHT IN A MOMENT • To bring the Hyatt Regency brand to life, all lifestyle photography needs to feel natural and vibrant. • This approach seeks to showcase uninhibited expressions to reflect meaningful connections. • Scenes should not feel posed or perfect, and expressions are genuine. • Subjects look caught in a moment of experience, connection, or emotion. • The emotional tone should be upbeat. STYLING • When possible, show more than one subject to emphasize the connected experience. • Lighting should be even and warm. Harsh and soft shadows are both welcome to create depth in the scenes. • Use natural light when available to emphasize the relaxed emotions of the subjects. • Images should highlight guest indulgences that are unique to the Hyatt Regency brand experience.

7.3 BRAND PHOTOGRAPHY Lifestyle

LIFESTYLE PURPLE IS THE NEW BLACK (PITNB) In order to showcase a unique color treatment for the Hyatt Regency brand photography, all lifestyle photography will develop in modern, vibrant, and energetic tonalities of purple. Shadows and black areas are replaced with a purple tone to make this brand distinct and present an own-able image style. The purple tone gradually fades out as it enters 3/4 tones. • The PITNB treatment should be noticeable but not overpowering. • Tone of purple should be dark enough so it still works as a shadow tone. Try to avoid making the shadows too light. • Overall, colors should be saturated to create a vibrant scene. • When shooting for resort hotels, try to incorporate landscape, clothing or backgrounds, which reflect the resort hero color.

The Hive has a flexible design system and presents three main manifestations (A & B). Graphic elements can be used alone or with photography. When choosing which graphic elements to use, please refer to this guide, and make sure you are selecting the element that best complements your project. THINGS TO AVOID • Whenever possible, the Hive should avoid covering people’s faces and should never cover the main subjects. • Do not adjust the transparency of the outer Hive or paths. Only the center can be adjusted. • Do not mix colors. The solid color areas used in option two should always match the Hive’s graphic color. The tints should remain consistent, but the graphic can be cropped in different ways to fit the needs of the specific project. The thickness of the white stroke should always be delicate and elegant. It can be adjusted on larger materials or closer crops so it never looks heavy.
