Food Ideas There are plenty of dehydrated trail foods you can buy in packages from the stores! Some of them are fantastic. Others are high in sodium or are pretty expensive. We like putting together our own meals and snacks. Below is a list of some of the things we enjoy.
Breakfast bagels + peanut butter pita or rye bread + peanut butter pita or rye bread + chia seeds granola bars dried fruits fruit leather apples pancake mix instant oatmeal nuts, chia seeds instant coffee/tea
Lunch dried fruits fruit leather summer sausage beef jerky tuna + tortillas/pitas + mayo packets laughing cow cheese babybel cheese string cheese hummus + bread
Dinner dehydrated spaghetti dehydrated chili rice dried beans macaroni and cheese ramen instant mashed potatoes don’t forget your spices!
Drinks instant drink packets - juice, gatorade, energy drink, etc. hot cocoa coffee tea powdered milk
Snacks GORP/trail mix fruit leather dried fruit crackers cookies powdered pudding candy (esp. chocolate bars - the best kind of hiking nutrition) gum
