Urban Planning Corabastos- wholesale food center Bogotรก Colombia Project in development

01

Bogotรก's wholesale food center has established itself as the most important site in terms of supply, since all the food arrives there and is later distributed in the center of the country. Currently, the wholesale central presents various problems in urban and legal terms, starting from the lack of regulations to the invasion of the internal and adjacent public space.

*This information is the property of Contexto Urbano SAS, taken as a sample of my work done for the project.

The wholesale food center is located in the southwest of the capital, close to the El Dorado airport.

URBAN DEVELOPMENT PLAN

Urban Planning Funza, Cundinamarca, Colombia Project in development

02

As it is a land that has not complied with the urbanization process and being classified as Expansion Land by the Basic Land Use Plan of the Municipality of Funza, it must be developed through a planning instrument known as " Plan Parcial ", which specifically articulates the objectives of land use planning with those of management, seeking a good planning in detail to obtain an adequate urban space built and inhabited..

*This information is the property of Contexto Urbano SAS, taken as a sample of my work done for the project.

Population

The municipality of Funza is environmentally characterized by the presence of various water bodies that make up a system of complex wetlands like Humedal Gualí (spine of the municipality), the largest in extension, Florida Humedal and La Isla Humedal mainly, which are part of the the Bogotá River basin, becoming the primary structure of the municipal territory.

MOBILITY System

El Dorado Airport impact High risk of flooding Medium risk of flooding Low risk of flooding High voltage line Medium voltage line Impact by Wastewater Treatment Plant

The project is located in an area free of environmental risks such as: Risk of flooding, Risks of electrical networks, WWTP affected area and others such as airport operating cones, risk of railroad track and risk of fire explosion due to the passing pipeline on the same railroad

National road Departmental trunk Departmental collector road Municipal road

The main communication routes in the municipality of Funza are the Central Highway of Occidente or Calle 13, the Medellín Highway or Calle 80 and the Transversal Longitudinal de la Sabana, which divides the urban land of the municipality in two. Also, these roads articulate in an east-west and north-south direction with other municipalities, allowing access to other territories.

Study area Proposed park Existing park

Deficit of parks that can supply the recreation and leisure needs of the resident population, for this reason, it is extremely important to encourage projects within the municipality that promote the creation of green areas that are for the enjoyment not only of the population that is going to get to occupy the space, but of the existing one, in such a way that it connects the entire urban space.

Study area Proposed park Existing park

The mobility system has an incomplete road network, which translates into stagnation due to lack of road continuity. The project will prioritize the continuity of important roads at the municipal and regional level that allow improving accessibility and connectivity within the municipality

HEIGHTS

Study area Residential Civic and cultural Commercial and mercantile services Approved developments

The municipality proposes a zonal park called Santa Teresita of 5.46 Hectares that are connected with another zonal park called La Providencia where there are 3.78 Has of green area which are connected to each other through the linear park of 8.81 Has that divides the municipalities of Funza and Mosquera, but which in turn unites and unites them through public space for the enjoyment of the population of both municipalities.

Study area 1 - 3 Floor 3 - 5 Floor 5 - 6 Floor 6 - 8 Floor

The land uses are distributed from the two main axes, which divide the urban area into four parts, forming various uses within each one. Mainly, you can find commercial activities, commercial services and collective facilities. Towards the historic center, civic and cultural activities are developed and residential use extends throughout the entire urban area, with certain areas for the location of facilities, parks, and other activities.

Low building densities predominate. The heights that are mostly observed are from 1 to 3 floors, however, the new building conformations that are located in the vicinity of the project have higher heights that vary between 5 and 6 floors, these constructions represent the new housing projects that are developed through of grouping systems that can house a larger population and thus make up for the housing deficits that the municipality has.

Improve the interior and exterior accessibility of the sector, facilitating access conditions to the different parts of the city, and avoiding the indiscriminate use of private vehicles. The internal roads of the project follow the symmetry that makes up the municipal road network.

The proposed location of these facilities remedies the sector in the provision and allows the population to satisfy the basic needs that they have unsatisfied today. They are directly articulated with the green public space, which is also linked to the other land uses proposed in the sector.

The project will allocate four blocks for the development of low-income housing in order to contribute to: Reduce the housing deficit that occurs today and contribute to the supply of decent housing for the lower-income population. Also, local commercial areas where you can access immediately

The metropolitan area of Bogotรก is made up of 18 municipalities, one of which is the capital district. This being the dynamic center of the area presents an urban macrocephaly having a concentration of all goods and services. that is why the ordering is proposed through different dynamic centers, thus becoming a polycentric territory where different goods and services are provided in different points, making this a decentralized and deconcentrated territory..

METROPOLITAN GROUPS

The municipalities with greater density present lower environmental offer. The rapid urbanization has destroyed wetlands and lagoons that represent 93% of the water resources.

There is no evidence of a balanced provision of equipment or infrastructure ready to attend the developments, but use is made of the infrastructure and equipment of the central core of the District..

The main motivation for the functional relationships between the jurisdictions of the region is the labor supply.

The municipalities belonging to the first metropolitan group have smaller areas of protection, as well as greater residential, industrial and logistics activities

PUBLIC SPACE DESIGN

Urban Design Santander Park, Bogotรก, Colombia 2017

06

The park is currently not taking full advantage of it. the skater community has appropriated the place, but they do not have the proper infraestruture for its use. Also, it is only considered as a step from one place to another, but not as a place to stay. The proposal raises the design of the public space, taking into account the potential that it has to be a referential and historical center. as well as taking into account the community that is making use of it.

territorial marginality

Regional Planning Catatumbo Region, Norte de Santander, Colombia 2017

06

The Catatumbo region over the years has suffered the phenomenon of marginality due to factors such as violence and the abandonment of the state. Due to this, the population has not been able to have opportunities and its economy is based on illegality. It is important to integrate this region to the national dynamics, where its population can develop its territory in the most appropriate way and making part of it.
