The “interpretation” of the basic physical and geomorphologic features, such as the sloping ground,of the plot formed the idea with the aim of developing a dialectical relationship between the urban region and the plot area. Studying the surrounding area we notice that the plot has a problematic in the structure of the urban network, so the idea focuses on restoring accessibility of the urban area. Aiming to this connection, we present a new pedestrian highway, the “Esplanade”, which crosses the composition and unites the individual modules, while at the same time being a structural element of the organization of uses by regulating access , parking spaces and traffic areas. The Esplanade connects the pedestrian to the Athenian landscape, while gazing at the heart of the composition forming rich intersections of views and movements in space. The uses which are placed beneath the Esplanade create a boundary to the road, providing the necessary protection and tranquility, while at the same time the opening into the central courtyard transforms this central space into a vital space for the Ionian Center. This environment ensures an inner atmosphere of serenity and tranquility within the Center and, at the same time, the permeability of the boundary ensures a balance between built and free space as the plot is transformed into a free-flowing walkable square, enhancing its sense of well-being, enhancing the sense of an urban park in the city.

The region of Afantou in Rhodes is considered to be an undeveloped resort. The urban planning study of the region attempts to create a favourable climate for touristic development by attracting investors. This development includes a Marina with 90 yachts, a 400-bed Golf Hotel Resort and a Boutique Hotel. In addition, residential units with luxury villas are being developed.
The Golf Resort consists of the main building and the bungalows which are located on either side of a Promenade whose axis connects east with west. This Promenade comes to define the design as the hotel functions. The physical and geomorphologic features, such as the sloping ground, formed an amphitheatrical spatial layout of the individual units aiming the view of open seas.

The landmark of the marina is the Pavilion which comes to define the coastal front serving the functions of the coastal Esplanade. Inspired by the Greek shipping and the timbers of the wooden spindles, the wood is chosen as the main material and texture of this light construction.

The “interpretation” of the basic physical and geomorphologic features, such as the existing geek, shaped the idea in the concept design of the Boutique Hotel. The geek splits into smaller by forming a channel network that connects the bungalows to the main building.

Spatial Allocation of Investment Project: “Construction and operation of a “ VIP Exclusive Club” Tourist Resort on Scorpios Island”.
Scorpios is a private island in the Ionian Sea off the western coast of Greece and it is primarily known as the private island of the late Greek shipping billionaire Aristotle Onassis. In April 2013 through Dmitry Rybolovlev, bought Scorpios from Onassis. Beginning in October 2018 and with a completion date of 2020, Rybolovlev began developing a 10,000 sq.m luxury resort on Scorpios for a total investment estimated at €184 million. The urban planning tool of the Special Spatial Development Plan of Strategic Investment (ESCHASE) was selected as the most appropriate for the proposed development in Scorpios. Architectural Study, Transport Study, Landscape Study, Plantation study, Water Supply network-Irrigation network-Fire Fighting network-Sewage network and Voltage Power network included in the Masterplan drawing. Compatibility with the local Natural Lanscapes and the Adaptation to the environmental and ecological requirements of the island were the basic principles of project.

A new public utilities area is requested in the city of Thessaloniki. A complex, varied, multifunctional program is called to be formed in the building block where the former Papafi stables stand today. In a location of local and potentially wider importance, in connection with the archaeological site of the Toumba Hill, a set of public infrastructures are to be found. This cluster is looking for a way to join the over encumbered urban landscape, as a break. An open ecosystem opposed to the hard structured, urban landscape is proposed. A pouch of natural, soft, new landmark. The complex’s idea is born from horizontal and vertical nature surfaces that shape the environment for the placement of infrastructures. A permeable solid is formed from artificial roots, nailed to the ground and delivered to nature so that it will lean and wrap the building block. In this way the field is transformed into a natural envelope that houses the new public, social center of administration, social welfare and civilization.

Dominant design tool for the composition of the architectural concept was a central public passage that stretches along the plot and the buildings. The character of this passage was one of the main issues of the synthetic process because it would also define the overall spirit of the proposal.
The idea of a prominent walk, elevated from the surface of the earth, like a ship deck, was born from the environment surrounding it. This choice not only serves the linear growth and directionality that the space demanded, but also, assures a meaningful coherence with the rest of the composition. The composition is a fussy boat that concentrates on its deck the city’s everyday life. An urban ark is formed. A protective container of the city’s natural, social and cultural present. The idea of the ark welcomes the daily routine of the city and envisions its future as an active field that cultivates a balanced natural and social kernel. Between the shores of the like and the different, the ark stands as a bridge.

GENERAL BIRD’S EYE VIEW
The basic axis that shaped the proposal for the cultural centre of Bamiyan was the concept of intermediate space. The space between earth and sky, the valley and the ridge, the border where these elements cross and become reality. Besides, a crossing as such has already taken place, in the caves that ornate the hills of Bamiyan, could not be nothing less than a source of inspiration.
The nick of the rock, the relation between light and shadow and their integration, their incorporation within the surrounding space, have set the primary principals of the design, along with the design principles of traditional Islamic and especially Afghan architecture. Monolithic structures that stand out for their strength, balance, their clarity of shape, their geometry and the multiple layers of light that are shed upon their surfaces, which are embellished by geometric patterns.
The morphology, along with the relation of the ground plan and the section of the natural ground that are almost the same, generated the first ideas and drawings. Bamiyan Cultural Centre is accessed through a corridor, between two concrete walls which start from the point that the road reaches the site. This elongated corridor leads to the lower level, hidding the panoramic view, stressing the frontal view to Buddha Cliff and keeping the visitor headed towards the centre of the site. Suddenly, when the centre is reached, the hole synthesis starts unfolding right before the visitors eyes. A path for the visitor that begins from the lowest level and proceeds towards the “top” where he arrives to witness the majesty of the landscape of Bamiyan. An exaltation of the soul, spiritual and (visually) perceptional. Besides, the path along an axis is a major characteristic in the design of gardens in Islamic architecture.
Three functions (administration, culture and education) are joined axially while the distance between them is bridged by gardens and landscape configurations. Three functions that are oriented towards the Buddha cliff of Bamiyan and are given meaning through three basic geometric shapes. The square on the lowest level that symbolises the earth, the circle on the highest level that stands for the sky and the coupling of the two, the octagon in the space between. The octagon, as a shape, defines the Islamic world and expresses exactly the marrying of the earth and the sky. It’s in this exact joint that we choose to place the main body of the functions of the cultural centre, it’s core.
P40 NATHANAEL TZOUTZIDES PORTFOLIO
A “carpet” of functions, gardens, landscape configurations, shapes, symbols and co-relations to the area where it is to be placed. As for the materials, our intention is to use local materials, even the excavation soil to create bricks (adobes) in order to “dress” our building, camouflage it and enclose it’s levels just like Islamic fortress architecture, not by hiding, but through the creation of a bi-pole in the valley of Bamiyan. The bi-pole of the Buddha cliff and the cultural centre that refers to it. The placement of the openings, the orientation, the ventilation of spaces and the materials used are completely integrated in the climatic conditions of the area forming a solid proposal that fulfills all the demands of sustainable design.

Light is a snapshot that comes and goes. We perceive it for a fraction of a second and then ceases to exist. This moment is reflected in the photographic lens creating lines and shapes within a swirl. The shadow created from behind gives them volume, existence. This idea tries to capture light and give it volume creating a swirling structure of metal and glass.

“Athens: From Design to Design”
Athens, the “most fashionable city”, though it tried, failed to keep up with the imposed rhythms of the dominant western paradigm, eventually constructing a kind of design. The burdensome past and the culturally influenced east of the east are opposed to the tried and tested recipe, creating the illusion of a debt-ridden city, a city in crisis.
Through a process of discussion, some axes emerged, on the basis of which the concept of counter-example was approached, and therefore the diplomatic work:
a) Existing Building Reserve: In a city with empty and unused shells, but with conventional demand shrinking as a result of the economic downturn, diplomats interact practically and organically with the city’s past and do not simply regard it as a necessary planning component.
b) Accelerated Time: Acceleration of time is an important feature of modern life for both the individual users of the city and the city itself as an entity. This treaty particularly affects public space, creating issues on the one hand programmatically, with modern urban functions responding exclusively to conditions of efficiency and on the other hand structurally, with uninterrupted mobility producing degenerate spaces.
c) Coexistence: Functionally and aesthetically, Athens, with its block of flats, popular markets and cafes, is a place of uncontrolled coexistence, organically created and tied to the original structures of the city. Contrary to the logic of modern functional separation, Athens’s identity is shaped through meaningful coexistence both at the practical-programmatic level and at the theoretical-cultural level.
