To what extent does Aesthetic ‘Style’ reflect the context, audience and/or function of contemporary Graphic Design? Potential questions: What impact do fashion trends have on society? In Fashion, to what extent do trends denote a certain aesthetic?

In Fashion, to what extent do trends denote a certain aesthetic? During my time on the course, specifically so over this past year I am predominantly becoming more and more interested in fashion - and learning about the history of fashion. Specifically so I would like to understand the thought process that coincides how particular trends rise during a certain seasonal period, or year. And how this can inlfluence other designers to do create and follow a practice similar to the trend of that period. I want to specifically carry out reserch on the history of trends with fashion, and then to contrast and compare it to trends that are present today. In the hopes of gaining some understanding of how fashion and society constantly change, and how image is something that through graphic design and fashion, is constantly changing and adapting. For the practical element I want to create a small magazine of popular trends - or, some form of publication explaining trends or explaining work of fashion designers. Or perhaps a few examples of clothing I would produce if I had my own clothing brand. At this point however I’m still unsure as to which direction to take.
