INSPIRATION Three areas of inspiration for the window display:

HOME

FASHION

ELECTRICAL

CONCEPT After looking at the flaws we saw regarding how John Lewis is represented through their campaigns, we decided that we needed to address the diversity of products at John Lewis. Currently we feel like John Lewis has ‘luxury front’ so we wanted to address this as an issue by showing a range of products and a diverse range of prices. In order to better appeal to different target markets. Our interactive concept was based around the idea of a motion sensor application, which activates when up-close with the display. Holograms will activate around the standing display, showing a diverse range of complimentary products, all varying in price. The aim is to begin with a set of 3 simple spotlights, each representing and highlighting one of the three elements of the John Lewis store; Home, Fashion & Electrical. Each will have a simple autumnal colour coded scene, which will then change and become fuller when passers by set of the motion detector, located underneath each display. We’ve included simple illustrations to highlight aspects of autumn - the illustrations enhance the products rather than distract. We included them because we felt including just visual merchandise was too typical - where as the illustrations add a fun and inviting element to the display.

ALTERNATIVE IDEAS

Our original concept was based around a woodland scene, that had John Lewis products placed within the scene. The animals in the scene would then engage with the products. The interactive aspect then contained a push button which passers by could press. When the button is pressed different parts of the display would then be highlighted and animated. This then encourages involvement with potential customers.
