So I finally get to put this game on paper, and I have to admit I'm punching this up at the very last minute. And the reason is 'content' and 'time'. I just want to say that to be clear, there is a lot in the game, and upcoming up DLC as well, featuring Jetstream Sam. So leaving this for now, I will be returning to all the DLC content in the game at a later stage. The game itself is about Raiden a Cyborg with a dark history trying to do his part to help the world become a better place. Working for a Private Military Unit specializing in Cyborg enchanted soldiers he soon finds himself in a plot that could destabilize the entire world. Hopefully I will be able to talk you through this without giving you too many spoilers, but I warn you there might be some smaller ones as we go along.
Story You start the game making a modern oneman (or cyborg) beachhead assault on an unexpecting country in an effort to stop the new cyborg units from killing off the population and starting a new world conflict. Unfortunately for you they aren't so unprepared for an assault and
you are thrown into combat pretty fast. Before this you will have an option to do a training mission, I recommend that you take the opportunity if you have not played any of the other games before. And as I had not, I took the chance when it was given, and happy that I did. You will still be given a few pointers in the first mission helping you along the level. But I still recommend trying the training. The game then starts to reveal the story of the game for you, and I have to say it was rather darker then I imagined. At first glance you are waiting for someone to say "I will take over the world" but it's not the real goal in this game. The master genius in this game is a senator named Steven Armstrong. And at first it looks like there will be a world war to make sure the senator wins the presidency in 2020. But he has an alternate goal, becoming the president is just the tip of the iceberg. As you work your way through the levels you will be faced with a multitude of fights, most against cyber-enhanced soldiers that range from PMC companies to local law enforcements and the occasional UG's. UG stands for Unmanned Gears and is a bigger machine that works on its own, no cyborg but
a machine made with a various parts. Exactly what parts though the game doesn’t tell you and in many cases that might be a good thing. The cyborg warriors come at you in droves in some places, and the game being a hack and slash game this is expected, and very welcome. I learned to love the fights in the game, they are many, full of violence and if you do them right, a very satisfying ending to them as well. Not only can you do a lot of damage using a myriad of moves and upgrades, you can also finish bosses and your average enemy by cutting them open and stealing there, um.. fluids. Yes really, cutting them up and taking out what I can only describe as their hearts and bathing in its content by crushing it in your hands. Kind of dark when I think about it, but not only does it look cool it also recharges both your health and your energy. And ripping an enemies heart out after he pissed you off is very satisfying I have to say. Every once in a while a bigger boss fight comes along, or in some cases just a very annoying UG (Unmanned Gears, remember) to keep you on your toes or just to make your day a bit worse than it was before. As you go along you find out that Raiden was once known as Jack the Ripper, a Cyborg killer with a blood rage that would
make any berserker proud, followers of the series might already have known this, but I did not and it opened up a moral conflict within Raiden. Not only does his past bloodlust resurface he also learns that the PMC's who we (I say we as in him and I) have so heartily carved up until this point might not have been the bad guy's after all. In fact most of them had sold their bodies for cyborg
enchantments in order to provide for families or to simply find a home away from the streets. And for a while this is causing Raidens systems to backfire and almost shut down as he fights with himself about the moral of what
it is he does. Luckily for me it didn’t last that long, after being run through with a blade (that he later rips out himself) he shuts off his pain inhibitors and flies into a blood rage, the dead now fuelling his rage he proclaims Jack the Ripper to be back. After rampaging through the most irritating and in my opinion hardest boss in the game, a man called Monsoon…..well man might be a stretch. I doubt he has the parts left to be honest judging by how he fights. He's annoying as hell but at the same time I like the fight as with mostly all the combat situations in the game. After this fight it seems Raiden has altered his goals, not only wanting revenge for his past he now also fights closer to his former bloodlust that gives you the ability to cut through more powerful enemies then you could before. In reality you could do that already, this just helps you to do it a lot faster, and in many cases you will need that to keep up with the bosses and the more annoying UG's. You will learn quite fast what it is that you like with the weapons as they have a very different approach in styles and applications to be used in combat. By now some things have happened in the game, not only have you a companion that you got earlier in the game, I left him out as even though I like the character he didn’t participate in the combats. He works as a scout and simply tells you the ways to go, and doesn’t really do much else except give you some more dialog for the
game at this point. Just thought I'd add a few lines about him here as there will be more about him later. At this time in the story you also learn that not only does the main villain want the presidency he also wants to turn the world into a place where the strong rule the weak, and as it turns out Armstrong is not just a pencil pusher, he's quite strong himself. But in order to do this he needs an army, and where does he find it? In every street child in the world is his plan. By kidnapping them from the streets and in some cases making
promises of a better future, he takes their brains, yes here is when the story gets a bit darker. By cutting out the brain he can then train it in the mind of the kids themselves, putting them through all kinds of tragic histories of blood, losses and violence in order to turn them into the killer machines to fill the ranks of the army. Once the training is complete they will be placed in their new Cyborg bodies ready to serve as PMC's. As Armstrong sees it, not only does he give them a purpose in life and removing them from the world streets he also supports the world economy, as soon with a war, everyone will want an army of PMC's to protect their countries. Some of the kids are saved and you think, "nice I did a good job there, saving those children" but it soon dawns on you that not only have some of them already been harvested, but that there are similar facilities all around the world. It does not say how many are in the program, but I would say that from what you are seeing its hundreds just in the ones you get to see. And probably thousands around the world. This also put a
twist on the story again as I was wondering if any of the PMC's I have killed up to this point was in fact children brainwashed and put in Cyborg bodies. The game does not tell you, but it hints that the program has not yet come that far in its development, but it still leaves you wondering. At this point Armstrong has used his influence as a senator to broadcast the footage of you killing NPC's all over the world as well as local law enforcements that were on the wrong side, unfortunately you’re the only one that knows this and using the footage of you to fire up the world's countries particularly the US that want to up their efforts in the war against terrorism. Just as Armstrong wanted to begin with, opening up his way to power since he will soon have the biggest army of PMC's in the world. And it's here that he makes his last stand. Not only is he stronger then you would have guessed by looking at him to add insult to injury he also has an extensive upgrade in the form of nanites. Small robots in his body that not only increase his strength, but to also give him almost invulnerability. So bear with me now, I did not talk too much about all the characters in this in order to save you the experience for the game, but here I will have to tell you a bit. I mentioned earlier that one of the DLC's will figure a character called Jetstream Sam. He has a big part in the story, but I kind of want you to see his part on your own, as I think I can't do justice to him as a character and a villain, even though I'm not so sure he is a villain, but you will find out when you play the game. Anyway, he has given up his blade, a special blade that glowed red as its pulled out of its scabbard and a very cool looking blade it is. It allows you to fight Armstrong despite his upgrades and after a long fight (yes its very long and involves several cut scenes, fighting styles and a long list of conversations) you finally beat him down, not only that you also gain the blade as an extra the first time you complete the game.
Upgrades And just to add some more to the already full story and cutting people limb from limb. It will also give you the weapons of some of the bosses that you bring down. Giving you extra weapons and new combos to use in your battles. And I think this is a good time to talk about the upgrades in the game as you just found out you gained new weapons. Not only does your main weapon, body, health and energy have upgrades. So does all the unlock able weapons too, giving you different bonuses most in the form of strength as far as
weapons goes. But they also unlock new moves with the weapons in question. And some of them cost a lot of points, so the game will make sure that you earn your upgrades the hard way. Your Cyborg body has upgrades too, not only will many of them alter your appearance but some of them also give you buffs, for example how many grenades or RPG's you can carry with you during the game. Add to that the number of extra moves you can unlock and apparently wigs (yes wigs) that more or less work as cheat codes to my understanding. Instead of typing in "Power Overwhelming" in the chat bar, you simply take a different coloured wig. Kind of a funny way to make it I have to say, and I support showing you all the codes you are using on the character. The unlocks also include the blade and skin from a character called the Grey Fox, the blade must be good as it's very expensive to unlock, but his skin don’t seem to give you any special abilities that I have seen. The game is full of content, for example, as I played through the game I had over 50 training missions and challenges to complete,
and I have only 10 out of close to a 100 data banks, storing extra information about the game and characters. And to add even more, some of the enemy soldiers have a special arm that contains important information that you can cut off and collect as you fight them adding even more content to the game as you earn more unlocks as you do it. And it doesn’t stop there even. After completing the game you also unlock two new story lines, one following Jetstream Sam and the other following your scouting partner Blade Wolf. Oh, and by the way, a small hint, the energy you use to easier cut enemies is the same energy you use for upgrades. So you can use a lot of it to make it easier right now, or save it up to afford the upgrades at the end of the level making the game easier in the long run. I like that, it forces you to make the decision in the game on how easy/many cool upgrades you want as a reward at the end of the level. This is the reason why I have put this off till the last minute, hoping to go through all of it, but it's not going to happen, I have only just gotten the hang of playing as Jeatstream Sam in his campaign and have not touched the other one yet, and I still have a ton of unlocks as well and even more missions that I have not yet completed in the challenge menu. It's crazy how much gaming you get in the game. It's a lot. So I will be talking about these extra story modes in the upcoming Gamers Gazette
as I simply can't wait any longer to write this. Add to that the coming DLC that I hope to get my hands on as well, it adds up to a lot of gaming.
Acting For the surprise darkness I have to say I love the story, and the characters in it, it’s a good and for me a well written one as well. And probably even more so if one knows more about the story from the other games as well. However, I do find some of the characters a bit "forced" not sure if it’s the animations or just the feel of some of them, but not all of them do a good job of being a part of the story. But on the whole the acting, well the English one that is, overall is good, not great but it's doable. There is only two exceptions to this rule, one is a young man called George, one of the kids that are saved by Raiden. He is a Gyananeese and the English accent they gave him causes them to text his English with a translation from his spoken word and it's not always easy to read. I don’t like that, I don’t dislike the character and I like that he speaks in a dialect, but they just over did it a bit I think. It’s a small thing and I still like the character for what he is. Then we come to the bigger problem, the English voice for Raiden, the main character, is some of the worst I have ever heard of. It's just bad all over. When sad or down, angry or supposedly cool looking, he just can't give the character those feelings with his voice, I don’t know how else to say it other than bad. It's just bad. Still not bad enough for me to give up the game, and I hope that the original language will be better, for the next play throughs I will most likely not use the English voices, hoping that I can get over this bad voice acting. I don’t even know why he was allowed to complete the game, someone must have known, right? It's not bad all the time, but he sounds less like a cool character and more like the old school dubbed movies where the English and Japanese voices just did not work. It feels cheap in many ways, and I will look down on any other game this actor makes from now on. He simply can't get to the right feelings, like a opera singer not being able to make the high tones and stopping just below them hoping that no one will notice. As it turns out
though, he has done the acting for other games as Raiden as well, so someone must like him. But I simply just don’t see that he should be this character. He can't hit the darkness in the threats, his will behind him or anything else for that matter. But I will have to say it's not just his fault, there are places where the wording is just strange and the timing is awkward. I believe something is lost in translation and many lines have had to be altered to keep as much of the same meaning as they did in Japanese. So he gets off a bit on that, still I think a few more acting lessons will be in order. And before you say "Well can you do any better" I certainly cannot, so I have to good grace to stay away from acting. Keep in mind that even though I complain about it, I still loved the game, and he's not always off the track and some if it is good. But overall I did not like him as a voice actor.
Gamplay Other then this the game runs really well, during the many hours I put in to it so far I only had one crash in the game, and it was not the game itself. More like the software I used to record some of the footage did not agree with me and caused it to fall apart. The only thing that I would want in the game, and maybe they already have it I just have not found it yet, is a tutorial on all the new
weapons and moves you unlock in the game as you go. They look really good but it does not tell you how to properly use them, could be part of the charm to find them on your own sure but I would like to know for sure what moves I can do in a fight. There is a
possibility that these are in one of the 50+ training missions I have unlocked and not yet completed so here's hoping for that. On the higher levels in the game you really want something more than a few lucky moves to help you through the game. I think the game is well put together but its major weaknesses is in the same as many games all over the world, and the one that solves it will be a billionaire over night. What I think causes most problems in-game is camera angles. They do have a tendency to put you into a wall or putting itself between you and your enemy, getting a very nice view of when you get your butt kicked since you could not see your attacker in order to block it, perfect. And it happens a lot, especially in tighter spaces as the camera simply does not know where it should go and whirls around to finally settle where you don’t want it. It has caused me a lot of pain but in most cases it works, and never does it stuck in any of the boss fights. They are usually done in big clearings and not much for the camera to get stuck on there. It suffers a lot in some of the VR missions (training and extra missions) as they are usually played out in a smaller room or stage as a simulation creates the rooms and environments. Other then what I have already stated I really don’t have much against this game, it runs well, it plays well, and it’s a great fun to play I simply love it. if it were not for the camera angles (that many games struggle with) and some bad voice acting, this game is really really good. And I still like cutting people apart and stealing the power/fluids/hearts... whatever! It’s a great feeling, and fills me with a warmth I can't describe.. maybe I need some psychological counselling on that part later, but for now I'm going to enjoy it while I can. As always I hope you liked it and I will return to this at a later stage when I have had more time with the extra story modes in the game. Happy Gaming People!
Euro Truck Simulator 2: Go East Expansion Pack Review By Nathan Scullard Hey Guys, and welcome to another TaZeR Review! Today I am going to be writing about the first expansion pack for Euro Truck Simulator. The expansion has been out a little while now, but where my PC was out of action for a good few months I am playing catch-up a little to get some of the reviews that I promised you guys a while ago finally done. Now, Euro Truck Simulator is not going to be to everyone's taste, this I understand, I myself skimmed over it several times for more "unusual" simulator titles. I have always liked the train simulators and intend at some point to get my hands on Train Simulator 2014, but as for truck driving...well let's just say it's not something I have ever sat down and thought; "You know what? I'd love to play a game about driving a truck because I've always wondered what that was like." More likely my
comments would have been something like, "Truck driving? F**k no!" An opinion that didn't change much after I played the very first instalment of ETS. But I had heard such good things about ETS2 from many different places and watched lots of YouTube videos about it that I finally decided to take the plunge and get myself a copy. And I am really glad that I did.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 accomplishes something that I have never seen in any other simulator game...goals! No not football goals, but targets and progressive achievements.
Many of you are now screaming at me saying what are you talking about they all have goals and targets, well yes you are right but not in the same way. ETS2 is completely open world and allows you a huge playground in which to cause chaos and panic...sorry I mean drive safely and professionally from job to job. You start as a individual trying to make money by doing truck jobs, but the eventual goal is to
have your own company and hire other drivers, buy depots, collect the trucks and make a shitload of cash. And I love that, because it actually gives you purpose and makes you want to keep coming back on. You take pride in your company and want to make it grow bigger and bigger. Just as in the likes of DC Universe Online, you take pride in your character, you want to collect all the styles, the collectibles and try out all the character types. It is a game for those of us with the patience to stick with it for the long haul (LOL, Trucking Reference!). This is why I said at the beginning it isn't to everyone's taste, some of you just like coming online and killing zombies, doing races and blowing stuff up, and there is certainly nothing wrong with that, hey I love doing that too! But ETS2 is a game that does take its time, it's a simulator after all, and is supposed to mirror real life. I can't remember the last time I blew some zombies up on my weekly trip to Tesco. But enough about the main game itself, you are all here to read about the expansion, and so far I have managed to waffle on for nearly 600 words and not even start on the expansion! And to be honest that is because there really isn't much to talk about.
After installing the expansion, I of course did what most people would do and deliberately chose jobs that took me in the direction of the new area which had opened up on my map, which as you can imagine is part of Eastern Europe, Poland etc. But one of the biggest problems I have had with ETS2 has always been the scenery variation, yes it's very detailed and looks really incredible when you run it in ultimate, but after a few hours of driving (which isn't a lot in the scheme of things) you start to notice the repetitive use of the same backdrops and general everyday stuff to look at, even road layouts are copied from place to place. I have always hated that because if you are supposed to be driving for long periods of time, then surely they don't want you getting bored, so give me something to look at, something different everywhere I go, in other words, give me the option to go see the sights. But they don't. I can just about live with that in the main game as the game play is good, but when you release a DLC specifically to show off an extra area, you'd think they'd make it stand out from the rest of the world with well known sights and different textures, maybe some weather or lighting changes for the area. So is this exactly what the DLC had? No...no it didn't. This is probably going to be the shortest review in history really, I have been using the game for about 2
weeks now and honestly I cannot tell what they put in. I've seen a few new vehicles and that is literally it, yes I have a new section of the map unlocked, but I've driven to the areas and they look the same as the rest of the world. I haven't even spotted any noticeable landmarks! On the whole I was very
disappointed. The DLC only cost about ÂŁ8 on Amazon, but I was expecting a little more for my money, at least a notable change.
thing, but don't worry about the DLC, unless its FREE! I will of course keep you guys up to date when and if there is anymore DLC released for ETS2, and pray that it has more substance than this one...such a letdown. Thanks again guys for taking the time to read mine and all of the other admin's reviews in the Gazette and on the website, and I will see you again next time!
And that's really about all I can say on it, it's very hard to review the new aspects of game DLC when there aren't any, so instead I will just say that if you like simulator games then this is a great game, but don't bother with the DLC it's really not worth the effort, I got more DLC in terms of the regular updates. For example I use a Logitech MOMO force feedback steering wheel and for ages it didn't work as well as I wanted to on it, even with the Logitech software profiling system. But one day I got an update with drivers for force feedback steering wheels and my wheel was included, now it's awesome to use. In the same update I got coaches introduced into the game which was a nice bit of FREE DLC. And on a side note the only thing that I can't figure out on the game is the option for pedestrians. You have the ability to turn them on and off, but I have never seen a single pedestrian at and I run my game with that switched on and on ultimate graphical settings, so very confused as to why i have not seen any???
Anyway, let's wrap this up now, my verdict is that ETS2 is an incredible simulator and you should definitely give it a go if that is your
Thor 2: Dark World - Movie Review By Nathan Scullard Another Marvel superhero movie, something which in past reviews I have not looked at favourably. I love superhero movies, don't get me wrong, but I am very very...very fussy with them, and not in the way you might think. Most people who are fussy about superhero stuff is because they are a huge fan of the comics and spend all their time picking holes in the mistakes or bits missed out in the movies. Well, I don't do that because I myself don't read the comics, and don't really notice if they miss stuff out or not. But as a movie reviewer, I do pick holes in the likes of the story, the characters, actors, effects, etc. and I find that a lot of these superhero films have just been chucked out, labelled with a popular character and expected to make lots of money, and they do, but undoubtedly there are some that stand head and shoulders above the rest; The Dark Knight, The Avengers and Ironman to name a few. So the real question is this; is this one of those? Simply put...no, which is unfortunate as I liked the original Thor movie.
The film starts after the Avengers movie, so Loki is in prison and Thor has gone back to the normal day to day running of Asgard under his father's rule. But when Jane, who has taken it upon herself to try and find any signs of Thor's return to earth, by investigating anomalies, gets herself into trouble while inspecting a strange portal that's opened up in an abandoned warehouse. She's pulled through and infected with an ancient power/weapon known as the Aether. Thor senses her pain and travels back to Earth to help her. He decides to take her back to Asgard, hoping that with their advanced technology he can cure her. But he is warned that they cannot treat it and it will not only kill her but its return is prophesised to be catastrophic. Malekith, an old enemy of Asgard and the original owner of the Aether weapon, is reawakened from suspended animation and attacks Asgard in an attempt to retrieve it from Jane's body. During the attack, Thor's mother Frigga is killed defending Jane, but Malekith is unsuccessful in his attempt at abducting Jane and are forced to flee emptyhanded.
Odin then orders Thor not to pursue him, even though Thor clearly wants vengeance for his mother. Thor defies his father and turns for help from his imprisoned brother Loki even though he knows he cannot trust him, he still feels a certain brotherly connection to him and feels that he too deserves vengeance for their mother's death. Together they escape with Jane and pursue Malekith to Svartalfheim and Loki tricks him into drawing
the Aether out of Jane, as they know that she will die if it is released in side her, they also know that the Aether can only be destroyed outside of a host, but Thor's attempt at destroying it fail and Melekith escapes with the Aether. During a fight with Algrim, Melekith's Lieutenant, Loki is fatally wounded and as Thor cradles him in his arms he promises Loki to tell Odin of his sacrifice.
Afterwards, it's a race against time to stop Malekith from unleashing the weapon upon the world. As I have already mentioned, I didn't think this was one of the best superhero movies I have seen, but was it still a good film? It was...ok. The effects were awesome, as most of the superhero movies are, I didn't like the story as I found it confusing in places and struggled with the motives behind some of the actions of some of the character. The acting is ok, but
I have never really warmed to many of the characters in the Thor films to be honest apart from Thor and Loki, and this is probably just me, but I just wasn't engaged in it enough to give it a good rating. It was very blasĂŠ and didn't grip me from the start. I was just really bored. But I am going to give it a slightly
higher rating because it did in fact have a very good twist at the end that got me slightly more interested than the rest of the film did. So from a sales point of view, I will probably watch the next one so it has managed to keep my custom.
My Rating: 5/10
It take stones to be a hero, but if you're a super-villain, then maybe you should learn not to mess with some hero's, especially the ones with nuts big enough to sleep under a guillotine in their down time! Definitely someone not to be messed with!!! (Picture sent in by Ferocious Titan)

Hi and welcome back to another part of me pretending to know what I'm talking about. As you are already aware (and if you're not, you are soon to be) I take this time to talk about Magic 2014 and share with my own experiences about the game. And I do this by talking about a specific deck every time. Today I have come to one of the green ones, The Hunters Strength. It's another awesome deck to be used in the game. It has pretty low cost creatures and still has a lot of power in it, not only for the creatures, but also for its buffs this deck promises. Even those low cost creatures pack a punch, and are not to be taken lightly.
First out is Rancor, this is an Enchantment card, an Aura to be placed on your creatures as needed. Not only does it give your creature a nifty +2/+0 for some punch, it also gives the creature trample, so any extra damage left over from a potential block, will spill over to the defending player. This can cause you to do damage even if the creature was blocked, or to force your opponent to block with more creatures then he normally would have to, freeing up your
own creatures for future plans. But I can make it even better, it only cost you a single green token/mana to use it, and if the creature its attached to should die, it will go back to your hand instead for your graveyard. This card will offer your creatures a good amount of power and its ability will make sure that once it's out, it's going to stay out.
Prey Upon, this card is one of my favourites in the whole game. How many times has your opponent had one card that you want to get rid of, but can't get to? Well this card helps with that. It forces one of your cards to fight one of your opponents cards. The creatures takes damage as normal so make sure your creature has the power to kill your opponents creature before committing. This is one way of getting around the fact that this deck doesn't have much in the way of direct removal, such as spells dealing damage. And instead you are confined to these type of tricks. Some times its great, but in other times I really do miss the opportunity to hurls a great blast of fire at my opponent.
I will also mention Hunt The Weak in the same time, a bit more expensive then Prey Upon, but it also gives your creature a +1/+1 counter as well. It's worth a mention just
because of the buff it gets on its own, and then gets to fight a creature that you want gone from the table.
Kalonian Tusker, I mentioned before about its cheap and powerful creatures. Well here is one of them, for a mere two in mana cost it's a whopping 3/3 creature. Sure not the best, but how many other decks have a 3/3 for two in mana? A good way to start any game and can cause your opponent to rethink their strategies. And with a buff or two this one can really destroy your opponents game.
This one is a bit special, Predatory Ooze costs only 3 mana and will give you a 1/1 creature. It sounds pretty lame right? Well that's just the beginning. First off the creature has the rule Indestructible making it almost impossible to kill, note that it can still be exiled though. And to make it even better it will grow in strength every time it attacks your opponent, making it +1/+1 every time you attack with it. It will also get another +1/+1 counter on it every time a creature dies from being damaged by the Ooze. Making it grow more powerful every round, to the point where your opponent has to block it even if he cannot not destroy it. Then combining it with something like the Rancor will give you a creature your opponent will do anything to kill. And it they can't, you are on the fast track for a win.
Beastmater Ascension is an enchantment that will boost every creature you control on the table. Every time one of your creatures attacks it will gain a counter, as soon as it gets 7 or more counters every creature you control gains a hefty +5/+5! This is a big boost and the fact that it stays with your creatures as long as the card is in play will cause you to giggle like a little girl in a candy store.
Elephant Guide is another aura for your creatures. It gives them a healthy +3/+3 to the creature and should it die, a 3/3 elephant creature will be spawned to take its place. I see some good things with this card, even if your creature will grow in strength it will most likely die at some point. And gaining that 3/3 from it can cause you to stay in their game longer, and even buff that one up as well keeping your offensive and defensive lines to stay up for longer.
Fangren Firstborn is a 4/2, not one of my favourite creatures, but it does have some advantages. Every time it attacks, every other creature gets a +1/+1 counter. Allowing your creatures to make a bit of a sneak attack if your opponent did not know about it. And maybe a +1/+1 counter is not that much, but what if you have ten creatures on the field, all of them getting the buff. All of a sudden the creatures might
become more then your opponent can handle. It's a situational card I admit, but I still use it and many times to great effect.
only that it also gives all the creatures you control Intimidate, and all that for only 5 in cost is a great thing in my mind.
Brawn, this is a bit of an odd ball. It's a 3/3 creature that I strangely enough prefer in my graveyard. Not only does it have Trample, but if it dies, all my creatures gain Trample! This can be a game winner, if your opponent can't block properly he will either throw more creatures on the block or take damage, either way, it's a win for you. Using it with Prey Upon will put it in the graveyard for you as long as your opponent has any creature that could kill it.
Sentinel Spider, these critters have a special place in my heart, not only do I like spiders but since this deck lacks anything flying, anything with the special rule Reach is worth its weight in gold. And as it so happens, this spider does have Reach, throw a few buffs on it and it will block a dragon for you if it has to. It's another 5 cost card, but for a 4/4 with reach I can't complain too much.
Bramblecrush is a special spell that allows you to destroy any non creature permanent. Excellent card, just good, take away a land might not do much, but take away an important enchantment or similar, and your opponent can be in trouble. And it's the only card in this deck that allows for this kind of removal as well. It's a good card to remember and to keep on hand once you have pulled it from your deck.
Bellowing Tanglewurm is a 4/4 creature for the mana cost of 5, not the best on its own. But it also comes with intimidate, meaning that unless your opponent owns a land it can't be blocked. Not
Enlarge is a powerful aura for your creatures, it gives them a big +7/+7 buff and Trample until the end of the turn. It also comes with a special rule that forces your opponent to block it with at least one creature. This can be good if you want a creature gone, but I always feel it's a bit of a waste having it blocked. But I still like the card as it offers that big buff so usually it's still going to be worth it.
Rampaging Baloths is kind of expensive, it's a 6 cost card for a 6/6 with Trample. But it has a hidden talent for making more beasts. Every time you put down a land under your control you will get a free 4/4 creature to go with it. Getting
this out as early as you can should result in a free creature every turn for as long as you have lands, and Rampaging Baloths remain on the table.
Primalcrux, this "little" fellow is awesome as long as your opponent doesn't have any direct removal. It starts the game as a 6/6 but gains in power for every green mana symbol for each permanent you control. If another creature you control comes into play, or you already had some on the table, it will keep gaining power, it's a powerhouse, pure and simple. Oh and did I mention this one has trample as well? It's just a must have. Just remember to pray your opponent doesn't have a removal in their hand.
That’s all for the deck Hunters Strength, and rest assured there is more awesome cards in the deck but I can't talk about all of them sad to say but that’s how it is. And just as a final piece of advice, when I played this deck, I managed over 300+ damage to my opponent by saving up on buffs until I could use them all in one turn. Try to beat that and see how it goes, who knows, maybe you will beat that or maybe you can't. As always happy gaming people and I hope to see you in Magic 2014 in the future.
