DAYS 4–5 I HEIDELBERG, GERMANY TO THE RHINE GORGES Stroll the old town of Heidelberg and visit its castle, hike the Philosopher’s Walk, or bike along the Neckar River to Ladenburg. Then cruise into the lovely Rheingau wine region. In Rüdesheim am Rhein, visit Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Cabinet and a renowned winery or try a traditional drink in town. Soar over vineyards in a gondola before a tasting of local Rieslings. Or go on a bike ride or a hike through the vineyards. Glide through the spectacular Rhine Gorge, shooting photos alongside our National Geographic photographer. Later, tour Lahneck Castle. Meals: 2B, 2L, 2D DAY 1–3 I BASEL, SWITZERLAND TO STRASBOURG, FRANCE Arrive in Basel and transfer to our ship. Enjoy a yodeling performance in the evening. Take a walking tour of Basel’s historic highlights, spend a day in the mountain idyll of Lucerne, or ride a bike through three countries. DAYS 6–8 I COLOGNE TO AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS In vibrant Cologne, admire the architecture on a walking tour or opt for city tour that will have you tasting local specialties. Enjoy free time in town before a traditional Dutch performance tonight. After a morning sail, arrive in Amsterdam. Discover the city by canal cruise or walking tour, or set out for its phenomenal art museums. Disembark after breakfast the final day. Meals: 3B, 2L, 2D
