DAYS 1–3 I BUDAPEST, HUNGARY/ BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA Board the ship in Budapest and enjoy a guided nighttime walk. Discover Budapest’s two distinct sides on a city tour the next day. Set sail on the Danube and enjoy a musical performance after dinner. In Bratislava, stroll the medieval old town with a guide, then hike to the city’s castle or take a food tour before an evening waltz performance. Opt to rise early for a sunrise photo shoot as we cruise into Wachau Valley. Here, venture into magnificent Melk Abbey, go bike riding, or tour medieval Dürnstein. DAY 6 I LINZ/SALZBURG OR ČESKÝ KRUMLOV, CZECHIA (CZECH REPUBLIC) Arrive in the cultural capital of Linz, and visit the old city on a walking tour or a bike ride. Choose an excursion to the charming Czech town of Český Krumlov, or explore the storybook streets of Salzburg. Enjoy an Austrian folklore performance tonight. Meals: 1B, 1L, 1D

DAYS 7–8 I PASSAU, GERMANY/ VILSHOFEN/MUNICH In Passau, admire the celebrated baroque architecture on a walking tour, or trek up to the 13th-century fortress at Veste Oberhaus. Toast our Danube voyage at a festive Oktoberfest-like celebration. Meals: 2B, 2L, 2D

Sylvia Earle, Oceanographer

National Geographic Explorer at Large Sylvia Earle pioneered research on marine ecosystems and the development of new technology for accessing the deep sea. She was chief scientist for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and founded SEAlliance, which partnered with National Geographic on the Mission Blue initiative to help restore ocean health. She was named one of TIME magazine’s “Heroes for the Planet.”
