DAYS 7–17 I THE NORTHWEST PASSAGE Navigate the fabled Northwest Passage, exploring islands and icescapes that generations of adventurers sought to transit. We’ll follow nature’s cues, stopping to observe wildlife, hike on the tundra, or kayak in a picturesque fjord. As we sail, watch for ringed seals, arctic foxes, walruses, and polar bears; as well as beluga, killer, and bowhead whales—and with luck, the elusive narwhal. Learn about the Indigenous peoples who have hunted and fished here for millennia; and hear tales of explorers such as Roald Amundsen and William Edward Parry. Meals: 11B, 11L, 11D

DAYS 18–22 I HERSCHEL ISLAND/NOME, ALASKA, U.S./ANCHORAGE Visit Herschel Island, once a thriving whaling community off the coast of Yukon, and now a sanctuary that harbors a large colony of black guillemots as well as cultural sites of the Inuvialuit people. Follow Alaska’s northern coast during three days at sea, enjoying life on board and talks by our naturalists. Disembark in the remote city of Nome, and fly by charter to Anchorage to catch flights home. Meals: 5B, 4L, 4D
