DAYS 1–2 I BUDAPEST, HUNGARY Arrive in Budapest and settle into your cabin before a Hungarian folklore performance. Set out on a tour of the twin cities of Buda and Pest, and venture to the city’s renowned Christmas markets. Take to the Danube in the afternoon. AmaLea for the entire voyage Meals: 1B, 2L, 2D

DAYS 3–4 I VIENNA, AUSTRIA/ WACHAU VALLEY Explore Vienna and its charming Christmas village on foot. Go behind the scenes at the Museum of Natural History with a National Geographic grantee, or take a guided tour of Schönbrunn Palace and visit its intimate Christmas market. Attend a classical concert or visit the Rathausplatz Christmas market in the evening. Spend a day in the gorgeous Wachau Valley and discover Melk Abbey with a guide. Enjoy caroling over cocktails and a classical music performance after dinner. Meals: 2B, 2L, 2D

DAY 5 I PASSAU, GERMANY/SALZBURG, AUSTRIA Take a walking tour of historic Passau, or choose a full-day excursion to Salzburg, including the Christmas markets at Mirabell Palace and Hellbrunn Palace. Sit down to a special dinner followed by an Austrian folklore performance. Meals: 1B, 1L, 1D

DAYS 6–8 I REGENSBURG, GERMANY/ NUREMBURG Take a guided walking tour of medieval Regensburg and its Christmas markets, or see handicrafts at the Thurn and Taxis Christmas market. Then explore the walled city of Nuremburg, including the castle and Christkindlesmarkt, or sample beer and bratwurst on a Franconian tasting tour. Meals: 3B, 3L, 3D
