DAYS 3–4 I WAITOMO CAVES/ROTORUA Depart for Rotorua, stopping en route to float through the glowworm caves of Waitomo. DAYS 5–6 I WELLINGTON/ZEALANDIA Fly to Wellington. Visit the Te Papa Tongarewa national museum, then continue to “the Beehive,” the executive wing of New Zealand’s parliament. DAYS 7–8 I QUEENSTOWN/TE ANAU/ FIORDLAND NATIONAL PARK/MILFORD SOUND Fly to Queenstown and continue to Te Anau. Walk through the Hollyford Valley, then embark on a cruise through Milford Sound, watching for bottlenose dolphins, fur seals, and penguins. Distinction Te Anau | Meals: 2B, 1L, 2D

DAYS 9–12 I QUEENSTOWN/ARROWTOWN Return to Queenstown. Sample award-winning wines, then explore historic Arrowtown. Kennedy Warne Author, Editor Kennedy Warne co-founded New Zealand Geographic magazine in 1988, and served as editor until 2004. He has written 14 stories for National Geographic, including four on New Zealand. His work for National Geographic has taken him from the sea ice of the Gulf of St. Lawrence to the mangrove swamps of Bangladesh, from the rainforests of Fiordland to the coral reefs of Arabia.
