Vision for the Chairs’ Team One session to tackle them all. Athens 2020 marks a new decade of sessions for EYP Greece, our vision is to make it a landmark event. With an outlook to the future, the key academic theme of the event will revolve around sustainability and innovation. We are looking for 17 chairpersons, to take on that challenge. The academic team will be comprised of 2 streams to accommodate different skill levels of chairs. 5 committees will be solo chaired by chairs who wish to improve their basic chairing skills. Chairs in this stream will be provided with the essential trainings for chairing a session. They will be a part of an extensive personal development platform, helping them to identify key transferable skills that a session could help improve. 5 committees will be co-chaired by chairpersons wanting to advance their chairing. This stream will give the chairs the opportunity and support to try advance chairing methods and teach basic principles of Vice-presiding a session. Paired chair applications are accepted, meaning that chairs can choose who they will be paired up with in the application itself. However, please note that a paired chair application does not guarantee the acceptance of both applicants. The topic-overview process will be replaced by extensive academic preparation through Guided Independent Study, created by the chairs. This will allow you to remove bias and subjectivity from the process whilst still having the tool to set the scope of the topic. During the pre-session preparation, you will have the opportunity to speak to an expert in the field and produce an accompanying piece to give the delegates a better insight into the topic. The session motto “From innovative ideas to tangible solutions” dictates not only the academic theme but the footprint of the session as a whole. The leadership is preparing exciting reiterations to well known session elements. We will measure the success of the session by the impact we will achieve, boot within EYP as well as the community, hosting our event. I really hope that the outline before you sounds enticing and exciting as it is to us. Looking forward to embarking on this adventure with you, Tim Weber, President of Athens 2020 Mοναστηρίου 85 54627 Θεσσαλονίκη Τ: +30 6984171743 E:info@eypgreece.org

Vision for the Media Team The Media Team of Athens 2020 will see beyond the media output. This means that the media output will not be the main focus of the Media Team, but instead emphasis will be put on personal development, stressing individuality and personal challenges. I believe that by averting the focus from the media output and instead focus on personal growth the media output will naturally follow. The whole process will be facilitated by a flat editorial team consisting of me and up to three EAs, all with their own niche in order to create a diverse and well rounded Editorial Team. Developing leadership skills and a strong sense of autonomy will be the focus. Together with my Editorial Team I will lead and support ten Media Team Members, all with their own personal vision and goals that will be closely monitored and evaluated throughout the duration of the session. The Session theme being “From innovative ideas to tangible solutions”, will provide the framework for another part of the media team vision. Innovation is something that is often greatly sought after in EYP Media but we need to remember the limitations we are facing such as time, human resources and equipment. By striving for, not only a diverse Editorial Team, but also a diverse Media Team I hope to inspire to knowledge sharing and thereby innovation among the team members. I see Athens 2020 both as a challenge and an opportunity. I hope you do too! Yannika Rönnqvist, Editor of Athens 2020
