Calling all brides that are out to bag a bargain!! T
here are pitfalls at every turn that you must be aware of. Firstly and most importantly don't buy off a website with incredible images as they will almost certainly be copied from designer sites and not genuine articles! How will you even know if the style or colour suits you or not? What about the fit? Who will give you advice on alterations? What chance do you have of the perfect gown when purchasing an online version that appears to be a bargain when it is made from inferior material, false beads instead of crystal, cheap thread that rips and no boning for structure? And who wants to be telling their friends and relatives they got their dream gown off eBay anyway? Even with the added protection using companies like PayPal or a credit card, you’re not always guaranteed any refunds if the gown differs from the image used. Not forgetting second hand gowns that many brides list with exaggerations about the “perfect” condition of their worn wedding dress. Even dry cleaning won’t get all marks out, especially the train and under the hem which is usually very badly stained. If you have a tighter budget, it does not mean you should forgo the real bridal shopping experience or compromise on the quality of your gown. It is far better to find one of the many new budget bridal shops that are beginning to spring up everywhere to cope with
the demands of the bargain hunter. At least there you will be able to feel, see and try on any gowns that you like and prices are generally 40-75% off the original price! However, make sure you do your research and check if the outlet or discount store you wish to visit is affiliated to a main stream bridal salon. These are the very best places to visit as you will be able to select from current season ex samples, cancelled brand new designer gowns and previous season styles all at amazing prices. You know they will also have great back up and good seamstresses if you need them should any problems occur. When you visit your chosen salon, check that the designer label in the gown is intact as many factory type outlets buy from charity shops or even purchase online themselves. These cheaper gowns are mixed in with just a handful of genuine designer labels that have often been purchased as ex samples from bridal salons up and down the country and are in an appalling state of wear and lacking the once perfect structure. Some stores have been caught lying about their stock to entice the brides in with promises of a 'brand new named label ' at wildly cut prices. If they are not a genuine stockist of any named designer and using their images or brand name in their advertising or on their website, not only can they be given a hefty copyright fine from the designers themselves, but could be closed down by trading standards!

I am a proud scouser through and through. I abandoned a dull sales career nearly 30 years ago to unearth creative qualitiies I never thought I posessed. I attended a 35mm photography course at night school and loved it. I took the plunge and bought £1000 pounds worth of VHS kit - a lot of money at the time, got in some practice at weddings. I concentrated on weddings for about 4 years, then got up to speed on commercial filming and editing. Working as a cameraman is great; you are an individual, but also a team player.

I was born in Fulham, London and moved ‘up North’ to St Helens when I was a little girl. It was through watching documentaries with my parents that my desire to be a Camerawoman grew. I went to Salford University to study for a Post Graduate Diploma and Masters Degree in Documentary and Features Production. I started out rigging at Sky Sports Events and working as a Runner for Channel 4, the BBC Drama Department and ITV. The best thing about working as a Camerwoman is the people and I'm lucky enough to work with incredibly talented people, who are also people I like spending time with.

An S Class Mercedes took the couple through central London past Buckingham Palace en route to the reception, which was held at 6pm on The Golden Jubilee Boat Cruise, courtesy of Capital Pleasure Boats. While on board they they shared a BBQ buffet with 100 of their family and friends. The boat travelled past all the major landmarks in London such as Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Tower of London, London Eye, The Shard and the 02 Arena. At night the Thames was lit up spectacularly and the Olympic Rings hanging from Tower Bridge were truly amazing & the decorations marking the Queen's diamond jubilee were still on display which added to the occasion. When booking live entertainment for your wedding day it's important to consider the mood you're looking to create as well as including the music you love. Guests will respond favourably to music they're familiar with and so the careful choice of entertainment can have a direct impact on how comfortably your two families come together and interact. You could choose musicians or entertainers who are a key feature of the day, drawing guests attention, or artists who create a more subtle background ambience. A mix of the two is usually a good idea, with background music for the ceremony, continuing and complimented by discrete walk-about entertainers during your drinks reception, followed by a brilliant live band for the evening party. All the artists working with Alive Network specialise in providing entertainment for private events and weddings, and so their performances are by design, suitable for all age groups, with a high degree of flexibility. Can you clean my Ian Stuart dress which became really quite muddy after my wedding? It also has fake tan staining in the bodice. I have checked for a care label but cannot see any cleaning instructions?

It is always advisable to have your wedding dress cleaned soon after the wedding for the best results. Some stains are invisible after wear but will develop and become harder to remove with time. We have very specialised cleaning processes and handle Ian Stuart dresses on a regular basis, so I would expect that we can achieve a very good result. It is important to be aware that wedding dresses, especially yours with floral decorations or beading, are at risk of damage during cleaning unless they are handled by a genuine specialist. The cleaning solvents regularly used by 'High Street' cleaners tend to be too harsh and can melt trims and beadwork. We collect garments such as yours every day from all over the UK (at no extra charge), and have the expertise to identify and treat each garment and give it the individual care and attention it requires. Consider having your wedding dress professionally boxed for preservation, it makes a beautiful memory of the day and may be used by future generations of your family. After thorough cleaning your dress will be carefully packed with acid free tissue into a specially designed box. If this is carried out when your dress is cleaned it may cost less than you would imagine.

At Sandals & Beaches Resort, we have our own in-house Kodak trained photographic specialists and their portfolios are available for viewing on our website (wedding pages) in our Real Brides section, as well as locally in resort in our Snap Shots offices. So, you can see not only the packages available to you, but the styles of photography and each individual photographer’s very own work! When booking with our in-house team you can view your images in one of our private booths in our Snap Shots office. Whilst sipping on a glass of bubbly, decide which images you would like to take home to remember your unique wedding. If you can't decide on your favourite images, you can always upgrade to a larger package! In addition, if you can’t make up your mind whilst on resort, you will also have a later opportunity to purchase additional images for up to 30 days following your return home! With our photography partners, you will receive your images within a 4 hour (minimum) duration.

Because we offer weddings and renewal of vows in the warm heat of the Caribbean, consideration needs to be given to this. Are you prepared to be in a heavy tweed suit for example? Or a full tuxedo with coat tails and top hat to boot If a traditional suit is more important than keeping your temperature cool, then ensure to select a later wedding ceremony, such as a 4pm or a Twilight Hour ($600) at 5 or 5.30pm depending on the time of the year. We do our utmost to keep you cool, calm and collected in the lead up to and during your ceremony, by keeping you in air conditioned settings right up to the moment where you need to step out and provide ice-cold flannels and fans in addition, so that you look at your best for your photo opportunities! There are several places to hire tuxedos or suits in the Caribbean, not too far from our properties if this is an option that you would like to take.
