INTERIOR DESIGN PORTFOLIO
B IOGRAPHY E
ver since a little girl, I was attracted to the field of decorating and design. Although my initial education after high school was in the field of business management, the desire was there to eventually pursue an education in interior design. It was not until I traveled on a 4-month trip across the world with my boyfriend did I realize that studying architecture and design was the appropriate career path for me to pursue. Going abroad and seeing the many different creative and design talents of others inspired me to switch my school major and change the direction of my education. Looking at the beautiful structures and homes across the world allowed me to realize that the role of designing spaces plays an important role in our lives and our general level of happiness.
For the past two years, I have learned how to mix materials to make a space comfortable and warm. In addition, I have learned how to effectively furnish color and light an area for it to be pleasing and potentially eye-catching. In the next two months, I will graduate from the Art Institute in New York City. I am confident that I will formally enter the design world with a great amount of energy, passion and integrity. I look forward in utilizing the terrific experience and other skills my educators here at the Art Institute have imparted to me over the last couple years. Professionally, I would like to be work as an interior designer working on many different projects with different needs. I would love to design a space in a method that attracts people to not just the space but in my work and what it represents. I want to satisfy the people I will work with going forward and to one day have the opportunity to instruct other interior design students in the future.

“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so you can appreciate them when they’re right. You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself. And sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together. “ Marilyn Monroe
