EXCITING NATURE ADVENTURES IN ICELAND & GREENLAND
Dear Nature Traveler,
When you are in search of nature's wildest grandeur, few destinations deliver like Iceland and Greenland.
Iceland’s roaring waterfalls, volcanoes, glaciers and thermal baths are a testament to nature’s raw power. Sheer cliffs teeming with seabirds define Iceland’s indented coastline, while whales and puffins ply the cold ocean waters offshore.
Just northwest lies Greenland, an Arctic realm of untamed beauty capped by the Greenland ice sheet. With sharp granite peaks looming over deep inlets and vibrant wildflowers dotting the tundra, Greenland stands alone in its rugged glory.
No one offers you as unique an exploration of these northern destinations as Nat Hab.
As Iceland’s appeal surges and tourism grows in Greenland, we show you less-traveled regions where solitude reigns. From Iceland’s Westfjords and Highlands to the remote east coast of Greenland, you’ll find a greater sense of seclusion and wildness.
Our small-group journeys foster intimate encounters with Iceland and Greenland:
● Iceland: Circling the Land of Fire & Ice —A rare full-loop journey around the island
● East Greenland Arctic Adventure —Explore by Zodiac, kayak and on foot from our deluxe expedition base camp
● Iceland & Greenland: A Nordic Discovery—Combine rare highlights of both countries off the standard track
● Photo Expeditions and Women-Only Adventures in both destinations
Join us to experience a wilder side of Iceland and Greenland—as few others will!
I hope to see you out there,
Ben Bressler Explorer, Founder, Conservationist • Natural Habitat Adventures

THE FINEST NATURALIST GUIDES IN THE NORTH
Greenland and Iceland are expansive, with some of the best spots sequestered in remote locations, known only to the most experienced guides. Our Expedition Leaders are expert naturalists who take you to rarely seen places more conventional trips miss. Their deep knowledge of geology, volcanoes and glaciers demystifies the volatile natural forces that have shaped these landscapes. Their unrivaled understanding of wildlife, from endemic Arctic foxes to seabirds and marine mammals, ensure a comprehensive exploration of the ecosystem. And they respectfully share insight into Indigenous cultures and their subsistence lifestyles. On Photo Expeditions, professional photographers lead the way, combining natural history knowledge with visual storytelling skills. Our guides craft an unforgettable Arctic adventure, blending kindness and personalized attention with their wealth of expertise.
SMALL GROUPS
FOR INTIMATE WILDERNESS EXPERIENCES
We cap our Iceland and Greenland groups at 9–13 guests for an intimate wilderness encounter, eschewing the more conventional model of large motorcoaches and massive cruise ships. Our approach allows for stays in boutique accommodations and ensures prime seating for each traveler in our vehicles. Our small group size enables quiet boat rides, perfect for observing breaching whales or cliff-nesting puffins up close. We’re able to navigate less-traveled roads to discover uncrowded and equally stunning locations. When we do visit popular sites, our nimble group size supports strategic timing and exclusive experiences, like early arrivals or private cruises. Crucially, small groups foster a deeper connection with the Nordic landscape and culture, and with your fellow travelers. The result is an immersive adventure that larger tours simply cannot match. With Nat Hab, you’re more than a spectator—you’re an active participant in an exploratory venture.
NAT HAB’S PRIVATE FLIGHTS & SPECIALIZED VEHICLES
In Iceland and Greenland, distances between destinations are vast, and roads can be rough. We ease the journey with flight transfers, specialized vehicles, small boats, and, in Greenland, a helicopter flight over glaciated peaks. On the ground in Iceland, Nat Hab’s deluxe Mercedes Sprinter vans allow our small groups to explore wild places in solitude and comfort, leaving over-touristed hotspots to big bus tours. In the rugged Central Highlands, we explore via customized 4x4s modified with big tires and extra shock absorption for exclusive access to calderas, waterfalls, canyons and otherworldly vistas. Aerial journeys offer stunning perspectives on the North Atlantic’s icy waters, breaching whales and fjord-carved coastlines. By combining private flights and purpose-built vehicles, Nat Hab gets you farther and deeper into the most striking and secluded parts of Iceland and Greenland.
UNIQUE & REMOTE LODGES IMMERSE YOU IN NATURE
Amid the rugged landscapes of Iceland and Greenland, retreat to cozy lodges that blend supreme comfort with the wild environs beyond. These small inns and guesthouses—some with just enough capacity to house our small group—prize sustainability, utilizing geothermal heat and passive solar design. Large windows flood the interiors with natural light and showcase the wilderness beyond. Most feature Nordic design elements, incorporating local materials like wood and stone, such as Iceland’s Hotel Kria, named after the Arctic tern, and the Hotel Jokulsarlon near Vatnajokull, Europe’s largest glacier. Greenland’s Hotel Angmagssalik offers a hilltop view of the seaside settlement of Tasiilaq, while Hotel Kulusuk is the only accommodation in a traditional Inuit community. Nat Hab’s own Base Camp Greenland stands alone near the edge of Sermilik Fjord with distant views of the Greenland ice sheet, joining the ranks of singular accommodations that offer essential comforts with unrivaled access to adventure.
EXPERIENCE NAT HAB’S BASE CAMP GREENLAND
Nat Hab's private Base Camp Greenland offers rustic luxury in the Arctic, surrounded by icebound wilderness. Although it’s located in one of the most remote places on the planet, the camp provides a host of amenities usually reserved for far more civilized locales. Guests stay in eight tent cabins housing two persons each, with twin beds outfitted with warm comforters and pillows, a sitting bench, carpet runner, hanging clothing storage, and an en suite odorless dry toilet and washbasin. Built of heavy-duty vinyl on raised platforms, each cabin has a private veranda with a view of the bay and the Greenland ice sheet in the distance. Spacious cabin interiors are warmed by an individual heater, and hot showers are available in a separate bathhouse.
ICELAND CIRCLING THE LAND OF FIRE & ICE
A Full Loop Around a Nordic Realm of Waterfalls, Glaciers, Geysers & Volcanoes
Iceland is a small island nation on the edge of the Arctic Circle, but few countries are bigger on natural wonders. Glaciers and geysers, hot springs and waterfalls, basalt pillars and black sand beaches, frigid fjords and fields of lava…Iceland has all these and more, and our expedition showcases the full array of its striking contrasts. Uninhabited until the island was settled by Norse Vikings in the 9th century, Iceland today is one of the most sparsely populated countries in Europe. Along its shores, we’re outnumbered by whales, seals and puffins, which we scout out on private boat excursions. Inland, walk atop raw terrain born of fiery volcanoes and carved by glaciers. Here, the North American and Eurasian plates meet, and geothermal forces create a dynamic and dramatic landscape—an experience of pure nature at its most powerful.
⊲ An All-Encompassing Itinerary
Make a complete circle around Iceland by private mini bus, chartered plane, boat and 4x4—you won’t find a more thorough immersion in Icelandic nature
⊲ A Rare Visit to the Remote Westfjords
Explore less-visited areas including the far-flung Westfjords, with a private boat cruise to see whales and a seasonal summer puffin colony
⊲ Explore a Volcano by Super Jeep
Witness Iceland’s volcanic features, including Lake Myvatn’s lava formations and a Super Jeep tour to Askja caldera and Viti crater on summer departures

Capture Riveting Images of Glaciers, Icebergs, Marine Life & Inuit Culture in a Rarely Visited Region
For photographers on a quest for the world’s most magnificent Arctic landscapes, Greenland delivers—on an epic scale! And in little-traveled East Greenland, where our adventure takes place, you’ll find an icebound tableau few photographers on Earth have access to. Here near the edge of the Greenland ice sheet, glaciers spawn massive blue icebergs into Sermilik Fjord, which we cruise among on Zodiac outings, offering countless angles for mesmerizing images of their fantastical shapes. On kayak excursions in the bay, look for whales and seals as we paddle among the floating ice. Pointed peaks form a jagged backdrop, while tiny tundra wildflowers offer intimate subjects for macro photography on hikes ashore. Our deluxe private base camp in view of the Greenland ice sheet is an outpost of warmth and comfort in this wild Arctic wonderland. We also have opportunities to photograph cultural subjects on visits to Inuit villages, including Greenlandic sled dogs.
⊲ Exclusive Access to Remote East Greenland
Most Greenland photography happens on the more populated west side, but our focus is on the virtually uninhabited east coast, where silence and solitude reign
⊲ Stay in Comfort at Our Deluxe Arctic Base Camp
Enjoy warm tent cabins, hot showers and chef-prepared fresh meals at our private safari-style camp on a tucked-away bay surrounded by monumental peaks
⊲ Diverse Photo Opportunities from Land & Sea
Explore fjords and islands by boat, helicopter, kayak and on foot— capture stunning shots of ice, look for whales and seals, and meet local Inuit residents
