Welcome to the premiere issue of Essential Naples – a quarterly lifestyle publication in Southwest Florida for health-minded locals who desire credible information on wholistic health and well-being trends. Our coverage is 100% local with expert content that interests both local residents and professional wholistic practitioners. I started my publishing business with nothing more than passion, a laptop and a dream, and I’m thrilled to have created a socially conscious print and digital platform that has touched thousands in the last 13 years. Our sister magazines, Natural Nutmeg & ELM Maine, have become favorites for thousands of readers in Connecticut and Southern Maine. Now residents of Naples/SWFL can enjoy this fresh look at the many ways we all can lead holistic and healthy lives. I hope Essential Naples will become a regular must-read for you!
I’d like to thank all of our advertisers and contributing writers who have helped to make this magazine possible. We would especially like to thank our new advisory board, Dr. Josephine Perez, Dr. Derrick DeSilva, Nina Azwoir, Jamie Kliewe, Denise Pancyrz, and Dr. Deanna Cherrone for all their support in getting this project off the ground. A big thank you to our Creative Director, Jim Nissen, for designing this gorgeous magazine that exceeded our wildest expectations. It has been an incredible journey! Launching a new print magazine is difficult enough, but to launch one during a pandemic is a completely different experience. We couldn’t have done it without all of you.
Essential Naples focuses on four essential lifestyle pillars – Health, Relationships, Finance and Purpose. In each issue, you’ll find articles on wide-ranging topics from local experts in each of these areas who have dug up infinite nuggets of wisdom to share with all of us. Our mission and intent is to support each reader’s wish to make a difference in their lives. Together, we can make a difference in the local community. Please connect with the local healthcare practitioners and businesses featured who make this complimentary magazine possible. As I finish the first publisher’s letter, the endless hours of layout and editing will soon be completed and the first issue will be in your hands. Every aspect of creating this magazine has been a pleasure and to find yourself in work that you truly love is most certainly a gift. So, thank you again, to all those who helped to make Essential Naples a reality.
Wishing you health and happiness
Dr. Diane Hayden, PhD Publisher & Owner, ELM Publishing
