Dive into the realm of the “Last wild one” („Der Letzte Wilde“)

Nature exhibition

The nature exhibition “The last wild one” reveals the special features of a wild river: wide river bed, gravel islands, branched river arms and extensive alluvial forests – one of the last wild rivers in the Northern Alps – the Tyrolean Lech.

Why is the Tyrolean Lech so unique?

What is a wild river and why is it protected?

The exhibition opens up exciting insights through objects and media. Observe scenes from times past and follow the course of the River Lech as a bird would, from its origins to the Lechfall.

Head out on safari into Europe’s last jungle area –the riparian forests – and listen to the talking stones, which tell stories of their geological origins and special features. The exhibition spans the entire network, through to the smallest details of this impressive wild river. Be inspired!
