T HE RU L E B O O K
Do you have fun while mixing different colours? What are the new colours that you could make?
LET’S PAINT You have a sheet of squares(from paint the cards). The first row is called primary colour. Fill in each box with red, blue and yellow. The second row is called secondary colour. Mix two primary colours mentioned below each box. The last row is called neutral colour. Mix all the three primary colours to achieve a brown or black colour.
*Clue card in the pocket.
HOW TO PLAY? 1.
Three players can play this game at a time.
2.
Roll the red-blue-yellow die once, at the start of the game. The primary colour that appears on the top of the die, is the colour each player needs to collect for this game.
3.
This game consists of a checkerboard of colours. To start the game, each player has to place their peice on the box of colour based on the colour which appeared on the red-blue-yellow dice.
4.
Choose any card from the deck of challenge cards. This sets the challenge for the game.
5.
Each player has one turn to roll the number die. The players continue to play rounds until the challenge is completed.
6.
Based on the number on the die, the player can move either horizontally ( ) or vertically ( ) or using combinations of both. The players cannot move their pieces diagonally.
7.
Two players can be on the same box at a time.
8.
Use your sheet of colour mixing as a guide to plan your movements.
RULES OF THE GAME : 1.
Every player places their piece on a primary colour, which is either red, blue or yellow.
2.
The player can only move from a primary colour to its secondary colour or black or itself. For example : from RED
PURPLE or ORANGE or BLACK or RED
from BLUE
PURPLE or GREEN or BLACK or BLUE
from YELLOW 3.
ORANGE or GREEN or BLACK or YELLOW
The player can move from a secondary colour to its primary colour or black or itself. For example : from ORANGE
4.
RED or YELLOW or BLACK or ORANGE
from PURPLE
BLUE or RED or BLACK or PURPLE
from GREEN
YELLOW or BLUE or BLACK or GREEN
The player can move from black to all colours. For example : from BLACK
RED or YELLOW or BLUE or PURPLE or GREEN or ORANGE or BLACK
WHY SO? The player can only move from one colour to another if the second colour consists of the first colour or vice versa. For example, ORANGE = RED + YELLOW Thus, from red or yellow, the player can move to orange. And from orange the player can move to red or yellow. PURPLE = RED + BLUE Thus, from blue or red, the player can move to purple. And from purple the player can move to red or blue. GREEN = YELLOW + BLUE Thus, from blue or yellow, the player can move to green. And from green the player can move to yellow or blue. But all players can move from any colour to black. As black consists of all these colours: BLACK = RED + YELLOW + BLUE BLACK = ORANGE + BLUE BLACK = RED + GREEN BLACK = PURPLE + YELLOW
ADDING COLOURS 1.
The players need to record each colour they land on. Each player needs to calculate the total value of the chosen primary colour.
2.
For example, if the primary colour selected by the redblue-yellow dice at the beginning of the game is, Red. The player needs record of all the red, orange, purple and black that they have collected for the game. As purple, orange and black consist of some quantities of red. If the player has collected 1 Red, 1 Orange and 1 black, then the sum of Red = 1 + 1 + 1 2 3 As orange has 1/2 of red and black has1/3 of red. Each player needs to collect the colours based on the rules of a challenge.
This technique can be applied for calculating the quantities of other primary colours as well.
