TR KIOSK-STREET FOOD In conjunction with Alessi The aim of the project is to improve the quality and aesthetics of street food. The main inspiration of the food kiosk comes from Turkey and its long routed history. Eating together and creating delicious food combinations provides customers with unforgettable experience. Traditional elements, modernized and placed in urban context, bring cultural diversity to the streets of Milan. Each element is marked by a traditional Turkish symbol with a particular meaning such as fruitfulness, prosperity, happiness and many more.

A02 BREATH

Zeynep Nazli Celebi nazlicelebi@gmail.com

BREATH POP-UP OFFICE In conjunction with Haworth The “Breath” project is offering an alternative solution to modern society. People surrounded by work and daily routine receive a chance to stop for a second and catch their breath. The space has an inflatable structure, which makes the capsule “alive”. It is “breathing” when a visitor is inside. Representing two aspects of modern Milan, the space is shiny and eye-catching outside, but causy and casual inside. While people are passing by, the capsule changes its color and reflects the surroundings thanks to the iridescent fabric. The project is aimed to increase productivity of working people rising the quality of their break time, it is a small center of recreating energy in urban environment.

B01 PAROLE

Zeynep Nazli Celebi nazlicelebi@gmail.com

PAROLE is a restaurant located on the very famous street of Istanbul, Istiklal street. Before the evolution started, there was a fastfood restaurant which has no respect to this beautiful and more than a hundred years old building. Every inch of the walls and the ceilings were a piece of art so we decided to get rid of all the artificial additions and visual pollutions like the air condition systems inside of the passage and combine

the aesthetics we already have with the traditional Turkish elements like patterns and Marmara marble as a material. We also had a collaboration with a professional art department which usually works with international motion pictures and located an identical tree which reaches the 3rd floor. instagram: #nazlicelebi

ARGO Motion Picture Director Ben Affleck http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1024648/

Argo is an Oscar winning movie which was also nominated as best production design award by the Art Directors Guild in 2013. The scenario is based on a true story, about CIA’s operation named ‘Argo’ to rescue six American consular officers from Tehran and most of the scenes were shot in Istanbul. Thus, as the art department team, we were suppose to dress all the locations as it was in 1979 and look like Tehran.

THE TWO FACES OF JANUARY Motion Picture Director Hossein Amini http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1976000/

The Two Faces of January is a movie about a con artist, his wife, and a stranger who flee Athens after one of them is caught up in the death of a private detective and takes place in 60’s, thus we were suppose to dress the locations like it was 60’s and Athens for the shootings in Turkey. During the scenes in Istanbul, we fall into some difficulties like a kiosk located in the middle of where our exterior shoots will be, and this is how we worked it out.
