What’s New? Out with the old and in with the new! So goes the saying. Many in the world around us will be looking to this new year with thoughts of anticipation. They hope that this will be a better year, perhaps a more profitable, healthier and happier year; a year without disappointment; a year to look back on without regrets.

On Friday, Nov. 8, through Sunday, Nov. 10, I (Matthew) led a team of students to the great province of Quebec for a weekend of ministry. Mr. Keith McMahon and our Manifest team (formerly known as SEM), along with myself and two other students, travelled a total of 14 hours and 1,426 kilometers to take part in a special youth rally.

Sometimes we look to the new year for new opportunities, new experiences, new friends, new routines and new personal achievments. We often set our hopes on “the potential of the new.” Just thinking about what “could be” inspires us to move beyond what “has been” when we have come through a time of failure or dissatisfaction, or discouragement in our lives. The rally was hosted by the English-speaking Fellowship churches in and around Montreal and was held at Snowdon Baptist Church. We were also pleasantly surprised to have some believers from Philippino, Chinese and Caribbean churches join us. Our students represented
