NBBI COVID-19 Update Wednesday, March 25, 2020

These have been very unsettling and unpredictable days. The coronavirus pandemic moved in like an unexpected storm and has disrupted our lives and the lives of countless thousands more around the world. As we outlined in one of our earlier updates our goal was to keep our students and staff safe which is why we extended the March break for a week to give us more time to assess how this current crisis would unfold. It became apparent that things were not going to change anytime soon. In the meantime we implemented an online platform that has worked quite well even though we have had to iron out a few glitches. Our students have been adjusting well and we are proud of their efforts. The Board of Directors met on Tuesday, March 24 to discuss the current situation and make some hard decisions. After extensive discussion it was determined that on campus academics would be suspended indefinitely for the remainder of the academic year. This decision was not arrived at lightly and we are saddened that it has come to this. Our online learning platform will be the delivery system that we will continue to use for the remainder of this school year. I know this will be a great disappointment too many of our students and we would like nothing more than to have this campus buzzing with student life. The reasons for the above decision were as follows. 1.

It does not appear that the coronavirus pandemic is slowing down with governmental restrictions continuing to tighten. This pandemic has not even peaked and it looks like it may be some time before it does. 2. For the sake of our students/parents we did not feel it was right to leave everybody in limbo any longer. This will enable students to settle into our new platform and give it their full attention. We have no idea why God has allowed this to happen but we know that our God is good and His ways are perfect. Isaiah 26:3 says, “Thou wilt keep him perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” The word “stay” means “steadfast, solid, unwavering”. When the waves of life bring uncertainty and instability the Christian can be peaceful when his mind is fixed on an unmovable, unchangeable God. This is our prayer for each of you students. As far as our Spring Conference and commencement are concerned we will release an official statement on April 10. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us. We are all in this together.
